About this audiobook

Darcy's closest friend and fellow witch, Starla Sullivan, hoped she'd never see her ex-husband, Kyle, again. Two years ago he tried to kill her, and he has been a fugitive ever since. Now Starla claims to have seen him back in Enchanted Village, but it seems she's the only one who can see him. To everyone else, her ex is invisible.

Darcy only wishes his motives were as transparent as the rest of him. Since the police can't arrest someone they can't see, it's up to Darcy to find the secret behind Kyle's latest disappearing act-before he does something they can't see coming.

This one was more than a little sad. While still good, I had a hard time with all the grief and tears and crying.

I just totally love this series. Although there’s a mystery and usually some kind of death to investigate, I find these to be the perfect “lighthearted” mystery novel after reading a few serious books. I’m enjoying getting to know the characters and the town. I feel like the relationships are developing at a good pace. Most importantly, the Familiars are awesome!

Darcy is working for the "Elder" investigating the return and subsequent murder of Starla's ex-husband, Kyle.Kyle has been under the cloak of invisibility and stalking Starla, whom he once tried to kill... Kyle's family having closed ranks when he disappeared from jail pushed Starla away and worked to make her the guilty party in the relationship.Starla is staying w/ Darcy, when Kyle comes to visit Starla one last time, using the "Goodbye" spell for those dying & wanting to make one last visit to a loved one.Mrs. P is ill; the town is preparing for Darcy's birthday dinner; Vince has been spying on Starla, Glinda is up to no good.....This was a fast, easy, & entertaining read. I like most all of the characters as well, they have heart, goodness, & just the right touch of craziness to endear themselves.

Outstanding. I thought this book was excellently and thoughtfully written; addressing deeper themes without dragging the reader down. A very entertaining read I'd recommend to anyone who prefers their medicine to be sweet, a la Mary Poppins.

In Blake’s paranormal mystery novel, Darcy Merriweather has the power to make wishes come true. Darci’s closest friend in the Enchanted Village, Starla Sullivan, has endured an abusive marriage in the past and hoped to never see her ex-husband, Kyle, ever again. Two years previously, Kyle had tried to kill Starla and since then, has been on the run. To everyone’s surprise, Starla reports having seen Kyle in the Enchanted Village twice, but she alone can see him because he’s invisible to everyone else. Since the police can’t arrest an invisible man, Darcy takes on the responsibility of taking the matter to task before the fugitive causes more grief to Starla. Intermingled between investigating Kyle, Darci must face the loss of someone dear to her and her upcoming birthday—never a day she looks forward to.Wonderfully unique and filled with magic!

As long as you don't mind your cozies infused with lots of out in the open magic, you'll love this return to the Enchanted Village. In this mystery, Darcy's best friend Starla is seemingly stalked by her ex-husband Kyle, who ends up dead. Darcy can't help but want to aid in the investigation that is seemingly points right at her friend. Darcy's evolution into a practicing Wish Crafter and business partner with her Aunt Ve seems to finally 'fit' and seems like what she be doing, part of her new normal, as she observes more than once throughout the story.

Listened for Review (Tantor)Overall Rating: 3.75Story Rating: 3.50Character Rating: 4.00Audio Rating: 4.00 (not part of the overall rating)First Thought when Finished: The Goodbye Witch by Heather Blake was really good! I had a slight issue with the ending of the case but otherwise this was a delightful listen!Story Thoughts: Overall I really enjoyed The Goodbye Witch and was excited to get more of Starla's back story. The case was twisty--is he or isn't he alive? Is he or isn't he stalking her? If he is either of those two, how is he doing it? I think Heather Blake is excellent at making a cozy mystery with a good mix of procedure and amateur sleuthing. She lets the paranormal play into the case instead of solving the case! My only complaint was with the ending and even then that didn't take away from the overall enjoyment of the story.Character Thoughts: The Wishcraft series has a group of really great characters. I was happy that the relationship story of Darcy and Nick moved forward. I was all sappy about the side story of Mrs. P. I loved Aunt Ve and Harper getting into the mix. The characters are the kind of people I would like to hang out with in real life! They make you want to be part of their world!Audio Thoughts: Narrated By Coleen Marlo / Length: 9 hrs and 12 mins Coleen did an excellent with the narration once again. She is a good fit for this series: pacing, emotion, and attitude are spot on. I will be continuing this series on audio.Final Thought: Can't wait for the next one!
