About this audiobook

It's not easy being the only human at the Community of Species Government-and especially not when you're the rescue case. Two years ago, I was planning to go to college, have a wild time, then settle into a normal life. Instead, I was kidnapped, spent months being a test subject, was in hiding for nearly a year, and then found out that my whole existence is a science experiment conducted by the bad guys. It's definitely time to reassess.

My rescuers at CSG have been awesome . . . mostly. They gave me a job, a home, and a support network. But the whole demons, vampires, shifters thing is not easy to get used to. Especially when one particular vampire makes me want to take up stake sharpening for a hobby.

The thing is, teenage mentality or not, Andrew is a fierce protector. With the bad guys still on the loose, I need someone like that on my side. Plus, did I mention that he's not hard to look at?

As we race to find my former captor before he can find me, life takes another twist and upends my world all over again. This time, though, I'm ready-after all, I've got an eight-hundred-year-old vampire at my back. What could possibly go wrong?

Louisa Masters

Louisa Masters started reading romance much earlier than her mother thought she should. While other teenagers were sneaking out of the house, Louisa was sneaking romance novels in and working out how to read them without being discovered. She’s spent most of her life feeling sorry for people who don’t read, convinced that books are the solution to every problem. As an adult, she feeds her addiction in every spare second, only occasionally tearing herself away to do things like answer the phone and pay bills. She spent years trying to build a “sensible” career, working in bookstores, recruitment, resource management, administration, and as a travel agent, before finally conceding defeat and devoting herself to the world of romance novels. Louisa has a long list of places first discovered in books that she wants to visit, and every so often she overcomes her loathing of jet lag and takes a trip that charges her imagination. She lives in Melbourne, Australia, where she whines about the weather for most of the year while secretly admitting she’ll probably never move.

Loving this series, so cute & funny. The relationship is slowly developed to allow time for Noah to work out who / what he is, before getting really involved with Andrew. Can't wait to get to book 3.

Joel Leslie does an amazing job narrating all the characters & their accents.

Fun, entertaining and somewhat unpredictable story lines with a lot of laugh out loud moments. Very enjoyable and glad there are 2 more books after this.

Book 2 in series. Noah (human) joins the CSG team investigating and tracking down the baddies behind genetic manipulation of babies born to humans and community members (shifters, demons, sorcerors, etc). He thinks he hates coworker David (vampire). HA!
The romance is developed nicely, and overarching plot makes me invested enough to want to read the next book. I hope Joel Leslie will narrate again.

Ok so this one starts of pretty slow. All the training stuff takes kind of forever, but by the end you can't put it down!
Poor traumatized human Noah from the end of book one is trying to figure out life after captivity. Vampire Andrew irritates Noah, but I love that Andrew likes Noah when he dishes it back. The bad guy from book one continues to hang over everyone's head. And that dude is so scary!

I listened to this on Scribd. Narrator Joel Leslie did an excellent job.

Sweet funny story….not a lot of sex scenes but still worth it
