A.L. Brooks currently resides in London, although over the years she has lived in places as far afield as Aberdeen and Australia. She works 9-5 in corporate financial systems and spends many a lunchtime in the gym attempting to achieve some semblance of those firm abs she likes to write about so much. And then promptly negates all that with a couple of glasses of red wine and half a slab of dark chocolate in the evenings. Sadly, the book may or may not be good but I couldn't get past the first chapter because the narrator was so horrible to listen to. Narration sounds like a monotone computer generated voice. If you want to read this, try to find an ebook of this.

I feel sorry for the people who wrote reviews saying that they couldn’t get past the narrator’s voice to get through this book. They really missed out on a good one. You gotta love a sloooow burn. I’m looking forward to reading more from this author.

Also, I loved the narrator and I feel she did a great job!
