Coming Home

This was a sweet romance! I thought maybe the relationship came about kind of sudden in the beginning—where the characters hadn’t really interacted much yet but it was still really lovely. The narrator took me a tiny bit to get into, but I ended up enjoying her “Abby” voice a lot.

4 stars. This was a really sweet story that I enjoyed very much.

Teacher Sam and world famos actress Abby were really cute together, but the romance was almost overshadowed by the great relationship between Sam and Abby's daughter Gracie Grace. This was so heartwarming. All secondary characters were well drawn and fun, too.

All in all, there were a few minor things I didn't like, but overall I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Ruth Guthrie is a narrator to watch out for. I understand she is new to the business and there were a few bumps in the book with the pace (sometimes it felt too slow, especially during the bed scene), but overall she did a really good job and I'm looking forward to listening to her next narration.

De inicio a fin mantuvo mi interés. La historia es linda y se hace creíble. Abigail Taylor es una actriz famosa y tiene una hija llamada Grace a la que adora aunque ve poco. Durante una filmación en Melbourne, contrata a una maestra cuyas credenciales con los estudiantes son simplemente excelentes. Desde el inicio de su interacción, Sam la maestra logra buena conexión con Grace y obtiene la aprobación de Abi de inmediato. Conforme van interactuando, Abi y Sam se van haciendo amigas hasta que la evidente atracción entre ellas es como una cuerda que se tensa. Puede Abi mantener eso a raya con su carrera? This is a new favorite! I listened to the audio version. I really loved the characters and their interactions. They had good banter and such amazing chemistry. And I loved Grace and her relationships with both Abby and Sam. Sam is just such a good person. She was a joy! The narrator does a really good job with both Aussie and American accents. The American accents were a bit off at times, but understandably since the main characters had lived many places. The narrator's cadence was a bit different so I had to get used to it. The pronunciation of some words (such as "expletive") sounded strange, but maybe that's the Aussie pronunciation, I don't know. I did catch a few author errors, mainly in the use of "and I" when "and me" should have been used. I would have liked a bit more of an ending, but what there was I found very satisfying. The story itself set up all the connections, so not much was necessary at the end.

This book was refreshingly Good. I really liked the story. It was more than your average romance novel. Check it out... You won't be disappointed. I will say there is a ton of angst and not a ton of sex but that being said I did really like it!

Loved this story and it was only enhanced by the narration.

Bravo! I loved it! The love that bloomed between Sam and Abby was beautiful, and how well Grace took to Sam, too. The humor was wonderful -- I laughed SO much! I frowned and was heartbroken. I was scared and shocked. Happy and warm & fuzzy. I was mesmerized by depictions of love, romance, and sensuality. Such an array of emotions to be experienced when you read and/or listen to this book. In addition, it was beautifully narrated...I love the Aussie accent! <3

This book made me laugh out loud with some of the lines uttered by the co-main Sam, and was a mostly lighthearted, really sweet love story perfect for when you want that kind of a listen. Without giving too much away, It was also refreshing to have characters admit to their feelings with honest conversation than the running away that occurs in most romances. Well done.

Such a nice love story, with enough excitement and angst to make it fresh. Recommended!
