About this audiobook

An actress practically since birth, Grace Durand has finally made it in Hollywood. When a photo of her in a seeming compromising situation with another woman is plastered all over the tabloids, she fears for her career as a lead in romantic movies.

Desperate for a publicist who’ll convince America that she’s straight, Grace hires Lauren Pearce, one of Hollywood’s leading PR agents, not knowing that she’s a lesbian.

Lauren has dealt with PR nightmares for years, so doing damage control for one more rich, spoiled client shouldn’t be a problem—or so she thinks. But the more time she spends with Grace, the more she realizes how different she is from her television persona.

Getting involved with her client is not in her game plan, especially since it would confirm the rumors and ruin Grace’s career, but the attraction between them is growing as they run the gauntlet of the paparazzi together.

Author

Jae

Jae grew up amidst the vineyards of southern Germany. She spent her childhood with her nose buried in a book, earning her the nickname "professor." The writing bug bit her at the age of eleven. For the last seven years, she has been writing mostly in English. She works as a psychologist. When she's not writing, she likes to spend her time reading, indulging her ice cream and office supply addiction, and watching way too many crime shows.

One of the best slow burns I’ve ever read. The author truly gives you the opportunity to get to know each character as a person, before delving into them getting together. The shared moments between these two will have you giggling and kicking your feet like a school girl. 11/10

Is she really a straight woman or a lesbian? Something is missing in her love life, but what? Never an attraction to another woman, but Grace falls for one woman. She is so confused. To me she fell for the person regardless of sex.

I loved both the story and the narrator. It’s not my favourite book by Jae, but still worth a listen.

the story was boring and the narrators voice did not change between characters, making it difficult to be engaging. plus, the diversity was absolutely abysmal. every. single. character. is either white or assumed to be white.

I really hate to write anything negative or hurt anyones feelings, but the review’s for this narrator typically are not good and it’s for a reason. I wish all the ones done by Abigail for Jae could be re-read. I really don’t want to come across as mean, but I just tried again and I simply can’t even listen. I have another book by Jae that she narrated and I regret the puchase. The voice is just not audibly appealing, and there is no real difference to the characters which can make things confusing. Its lackluster. I read up on the Narrator and she seems like an incredibly kind woman, so again I’m sorry, but I’ll have to read this one. I’m sure the story itself is great.

Jae's a great writer, but the narrator ruined this for me.

It had potential but the narration annoying. I could not finish listening because of narrator.
