About this audiobook

A GRIPPING, FEARLESS EXPLORATION OF MASCULINITY

The effects of traditionally defined masculinity have become one of the most prevalent social issues of our time. In this engaging and provocative new book, beloved actor, director, and social activist Justin Baldoni reflects on his own struggles with masculinity. With insight and honesty, he explores a range of difficult, sometimes uncomfortable topics including strength and vulnerability, relationships and marriage, body image, sex and sexuality, racial justice, gender equality, and fatherhood.

Writing from experience, Justin invites us to move beyond the scripts we’ve learned since childhood and the roles we are expected to play. He challenges men to be brave enough to be vulnerable, to be strong enough to be sensitive, to be confident enough to listen. Encouraging men to dig deep within themselves, Justin helps us reimagine what it means to be man enough and in the process what it means to be human.

A very insightful look at the mixed messages that society sends our young boys and men and how those messages affect how the men see themselves and treat other people

Somewhere between a memoir and a philosophy book, but not entirely either. This discusses the things we learn as men, including how we compare ourselves to each other and history. And ideas on how to unlearn them.

Really important book and I apprechiate the honesty of the author on his personal experiences. The only reason why i give 4 and not 5 star is because in some places especially the end and the begging certain things were overexpained. The author is much better at getting his point across by telling his personal stories than talking about things in general. I felt like he repeated himself.

Engaging, provocative, unconventional, and real in all aspects. I was yet to read a book that would actually challenge me that much. uld highly recommend reading the book. Also made me realise the importance of having real male friendship (which I'm at a junction where I can't count any). BTW, it is more about being humane rather than just a book about man.

A highly inspirational book. With a lot of personal experiences, but mainly telling me that I am Enough.

Highly relatable as a female. Pleasantly surprised and entertained by the authors banter with himself and his stories. All the feels. Great take always and concepts to self reflect on. Offers a unique and not often voiced perspective and introspective view on men and masculinity that has encouraged myself as a woman to encourage the men around me.
