About this audiobook

Is it really summer without Cousins Beach?

For the first time in her life, Belly isn’t going back to Cousins Beach this summer.

Nothing is the same as it was. Her best friend Taylor has lots of plans for them—boat parties and tanning by the pool and new boys to obsess over. But when Jeremiah calls and says that Conrad has disappeared, all roads seem to lead back
to the summer house. Will Belly spend another summer chasing after Conrad, or will she finally let him go?

¿Qué clase de final es este?

Solo dire que las palabras no expresadas son las que más duelen y las que más dañan.

I enjoyed this one more than the first book. I feel like we got to see more of Conrad’s sweet moments but I still don’t really understand what she sees in him. This one jumped around less which I enjoyed and it was cute that they all kind of came together at the end.

    The voice acting is great!

I binged the first season in one day in 2022 and really WANTED to continue on with the series.

DON'T continue reading if you haven't read book 1 or watched the series.......

We follow both families as they deal with the aftermath of Suzanna's death ? so sad, I loved her.

Belly and Conrad are together but from the beginning of the book you sense that things don't stay that way. Conrad goes 'missing' and Jeremiah asks Belly to come with him to find him.

Belly is 16, she is very sheltered and innocent, your emotions at 16 are all over the place - some situations could've definately been handled alot differently. But then again everyone handles grief differently.

Not as good as the first one, but still good. Kind of addicting. Narrator is starting to become annoying to me. This installment is quite a bit more angst filled than the first. Not a good thing. I will go on to the third and final book in this series because I do indeed want to see what happens…☺️

Second time reading this one, holds up as a good choice for warm weather reading. If you enjoyed the dynamics of the love triangle in the first book, you’ll find them just as entertaining and exasperating here as they indulge in a lot of the same behavior, Conrad with his insistence on pushing Belly away, Belly refusing to be pushed away, and Jeremiah seemingly well aware that Belly will always prefer Conrad yet pursuing her anyway. This takes a turn I don’t love, whether you’ll love or hate it depends on your boy of choice. Also much like the first book, the deeper emotional moments stem from parental drama. The boys relationship with their dad isn’t explored a ton but the scenes in both present day and flashback have great intensity and tension. And Belly’s mom emerged as my favorite character in this one, although she doesn’t have her finest hour ever with her daughter, the high points of the book for me pretty much all belonged to Laurel, telling it like it is and taking charge.

Am I going to read all three books in this series in one day?

    I think I am.

Finishing the middle book of a trilogy is the best and worst part - you're invested in the characters and you want to know what happens next, but what if the author fucks up the ending???

    Some thoughts:

    - Conrad, get your shit in a pile. I'm getting real sick of you and if you keep acting like this then I hope Belly moves the fuck on and gets over you already,

    - Jeremiah, my sweet cinnamon roll, you are too good for this series (too pure). Find a lovely, non-Belly girl and get on with your life.

    - Belly, untangle yourself from Conrad ffs. Finish high school, meet literally any other guy in the world apart from these brothers and move on.

(I am willing to bet ten thousand dollars that the last book is not, in fact, about these three getting on with their lives and leaving each other alone.)

I like Belly - but sometimes she really is just stupid. In the followup to the first book in the series, Belly and gang are mourning the loss of Suzanne and Belly's romance with Conrad seems to finally be moving out of the realm of girlish daydreams and into reality. But who does Belly really love? the boy or the dream? and is the real Conrad someone who loves her back. I sort of just wanted both boys to drop her hard! But teen angst and attraction are real and that is the saving grace of this character.

This picks up several months after book one in The Summer I Turned Pretty trilogy. If you are expecting to go into this seeing the romance between Belly and Conrad, you will be disappointed. This is focusing on how their relationship ended more so than getting to see any of their time together. This is really dealing with loss and grief. It was emotional, but I was left a little disappointed. I did cry once, but I felt the emotional parts could have been done better.Belly is still annoying at times. I did not really buy into the romance between her and Jeremiah either.Overall, I did not love this as much as I thought I would. I still enjoyed it and plan to finish the series.
