About this audiobook

Now a movie streaming on Netflix!

A summer in Italy turns into a road trip across Tuscany in this sweeping New York Times bestseller filled with romance, mystery, and adventure.

Lina is spending the summer in Tuscany, but she isn’t in the mood for Italy’s famous sunshine and fairy-tale landscape. She’s only there because it was her mother’s dying wish that she get to know her father. But what kind of father isn’t around for sixteen years? All Lina wants to do is get back home.

But then Lina is given a journal that her mom had kept when she lived in Italy. Suddenly Lina’s uncovering a magical world of secret romances, art, and hidden bakeries. A world that inspires Lina, along with the ever-so-charming Ren, to follow in her mother’s footsteps and unearth a secret that has been kept for far too long. It’s a secret that will change everything Lina knew about her mother, her father—and even herself.

People come to Italy for love and gelato, someone tells her, but sometimes they discover much more.

Kirkus Reviews called Love & Gelato “a sure bet for fans of romance fiction,” while VOYA said readers “will find it difficult to put this book down.” Readers are about to discover a new place, a new romance, and a new talent.

A cute YA read with Mama Mia vibes. I found the initial premise a little troubling with how Lina's mother sends her off so soon and with such little information. If you like this, please try out Wanderlost by Jen Malone involving an American teen traveling in Europe, lots of calamity, and love.

Started off well, but the story had too many holes. Lina was really annoying the farther along I read.

I really liked the flow of the story. There weren't any parts that were drawn out too long and the dialogue was entertaining. The book flowed at a great pace and the characters were very relatable. I loved it!

Cute book, love the story and how it’s like her mom guiding her through her time in Italy. Cute love story, cheesy ending but what else is new with romance novels. Feel good book overall.

This book uses imagery to describe the beauty of Florence, Italy. It also describes feelings of grief and passion incredibly. I even learned a little Italian! For example, “Ciao” means hello and goodbye! I would truly recommend this book for an engaging and entertaining experience.

Cute, fun, mystery, adventure, first love, etc are all things you’ll find in this book. If you listen to the audio version the Italian words/phrases used are in wonderful accents, and the male voices are spoken by men. I would love to see this story continue.
