About this audiobook
“Swoony, steamy.” —Entertainment Weekly
The Hating Game meets Booksmart by way of Morgan Matson in this unforgettable romantic comedy about two rival overachievers whose relationship completely transforms over the course of twenty-four hours.
Today, she hates him.
It’s the last day of senior year. Rowan Roth and Neil McNair have been bitter rivals for all of high school, clashing on test scores, student council elections, and even gym class pull-up contests. While Rowan, who secretly wants to write romance novels, is anxious about the future, she’d love to beat her infuriating nemesis one last time.
Tonight, she puts up with him.
When Neil is named valedictorian, Rowan has only one chance at victory: Howl, a senior class game that takes them all over Seattle, a farewell tour of the city she loves. But after learning a group of seniors is out to get them, she and Neil reluctantly decide to team up until they’re the last players left—and then they’ll destroy each other.
As Rowan spends more time with Neil, she realizes he’s much more than the awkward linguistics nerd she’s sparred with for the past four years. And, perhaps, this boy she claims to despise might actually be the boy of her dreams.
Tomorrow…maybe she’s already fallen for him.

What our readers think
Readers find this title to be a sweet and fun YA book with a great enemies-to-lovers romance. The incorporation of Seattle as a third main character and the themes of change and self-transformation throughout the years are appreciated. The characters are authentic and their evolution is well-portrayed. The audiobook narrator is also praised. However, some readers find the main female character whiney and there are mixed opinions about the book's suitability for teens. Overall, it is a solid and enjoyable read.

Brought me back to that time in school to compel of it competitive streak one can get into making it to the top and they complement each other so well the fact that he texted her every morning gave me butterflies I know it took her more a while to get there but that love was definitely always there - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

Why is this included in a YA Religious category? I made the mistake of not reading outside reviews first, this is basically an example of societal rot that has become trendy. What a sad little book. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5

I loved it!! Academic rivals to lovers is one of the best tropes and this is so well written. I loved the author’s incorporation of Seattle (the city was essentially a third main character, and love letters to cities are always so endearing) and the themes of constant change and transformation of one’s self throughout the years as natural and freeing. Really appreciated the transparency and forthrightness of being Jewish in a big city. Definitely fell in love with the characters - they were authentic and it was great to see their evolution. Audiobook narrator was awesome too - 100% will read it again! - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5

I really enjoyed this book!!! It was kind of frustrating though, when you think about how Rowan wasted years on a rivalry that could've been one of her greatest high school relationships. But anyways, I love the enemies to lovers trope, and it was so well done! Also the scavenger hunt around the city, I'm so ENVIOUS!! hahahah.
Three things in this book that really stood out to me :
1. Romance is a REAL genre
2. Dismantling the ugly redhead boy stereotype
3. Don't pass judgement on someone if you haven't even tried to get to know them - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

I’ve listened to over 200 bucks in the last two years and this was my least favorite book of all of them. The storyline was super cute, but I couldn’t hardly enjoy it overall the feminism, vegan, gluten-free, anti-Semitism, prejudice against white males, gay/bisexual agenda…. I’m sure I missed a dozen more… and it is appalling, that she didn’t mention my Native American heritage ?. Way to busy with all this business. I’m definitely going to think twice about reading another one of her books. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

Rowan finishes high school and faces many changes, including a new university stage that means moving away from her city and her loved ones, but also means leaving behind her rival, Neil. They have maintained a constant struggle and have been rivals since they started high school. They competed for absolutely everything, from exam grades or assignments to sports tests.
To bid farewell to the graduating students, those in the penultimate year always organize a game called Howl. This game involves locating several clues throughout the city of Seattle, but at the same time, they must avoid being eliminated by another peer who takes their handkerchief, which they have been wearing tied on their arm since the beginning of the game. This involves competition, and nothing suits our protagonists better than that. So today, the last day of high school, is the last chance to finally defeat each other and say goodbye to the city.
Everything changes when Rowen, completely by chance, overhears a conversation where several classmates are plotting to go after her and Neil, for always being the ones who win everything. It is then that our protagonist talks to Neil, and they decide to call a truce, teaming up to reach the end alone together and then compete one-on-one until only one remains.
Thanks to the Howl game, they spend many hours together and talk more than during all the years they shared a classroom. And while talking about everything and nothing, confessing their fears, dreams, and expectations, something wonderful emerges, and real feelings that were hidden begin to surface, filled with spontaneity and naturalness at the right moment.
If there is something I particularly liked about this story, it is the characters, their evolution, and their wonderful personalities. They are full of imperfections, fears, and insecurities. They bear the weight of certain expectations, both familial and personal, but they also have many things to discover and together, helping and respecting each other, they feel stronger and more secure. They are absolutely adorable, tender, and sweet. I adored them and loved the simple romance that slowly emerges.
The author has created a well-crafted love story, and although everything happens over the course of one day (from when Rowan gets up to face her last day of high school until the early morning of the next day, after finishing the Howl), everything unfolds very naturally, as the two protagonists open up, share things, and enjoy their time together. It’s a completely believable story with no idealized or sweetened situations, but there are several entertaining conversations between them that will make you smile because their rivalry and banter are healthy, and the sarcasm they employ is not intended to hurt one another.
On the other hand, it reads very well. It has a quick and agile evolution, the chapters (converted into hours) are not excessively long and contain many dialogues and few descriptions. I admit it’s a story very well handled where the author captures the feelings of the protagonists very well. The initial rivalry convinced me, and the subsequent game and romance captivated me, making me sigh and smile.
Lastly, I must say that the edition is beautiful. It contains details like tickets, emails, game updates, messages, etc., that make the story feel closer.
It has been a complete success!! (Translated from Spanish) - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

Frankly, since I always go in blind, I didn't know where the plot would lead me, as the title suggested that everything would take place in one day... therefore, I was eager to see how the author would play her cards.
The thing is that TODAY, TONIGHT, TOMORROW has surprised me. Yes, we have a work that carries that great cliché, and within it, we see fidelity to it. Two guys who face off to win a title and then a final battle that will decide much more. The narrator in this case is Rowan, all in the first person. I think one of the things I appreciate, especially from the author, is that she doesn't bring us boys who are almost magazine models; Neil is a redhead who is the same height as Rowan, and as far as I remember, she is not tall. This makes the characters feel more relatable. This rivalry that has lingered in school shows how, in one night and through that last attempt to crown himself the best, it achieves what nothing else had done. That Rowan and Neil see each other as something more, discover secrets, and get to know each other, creating a friendship and perhaps realizing that this hatred is not exactly hatred despite the blindness present. Personally, I've enjoyed them and laughed at things that are obvious to everyone except the people involved. Lastly, I want to mention Rowan's struggle in general when facing her great passion: Romance Novels, and those misjudgments that have discouraged her from confessing that secret. And this is not less important, but I also like how it is mentioned. We have once again protagonists of Jewish faith and how they can be treated, those little details that we sometimes don't notice and that, out of ignorance, can be hurtful. For my part, I can only say that I've learned to love everything about this book.
Rachel Lyn Solomon knows how to give me what I like; I am in love and eager to keep trying every delight she has. I was surprised that she played with younger guys, but I loved what she did. Happy reading! (Translated from Spanish)
