About this audiobook

A New York Times Bestseller

In this “unequivocally hilarious and delightful” (Kirkus Reviews) young adult romp for fans of Recommended for You and A Cuban Girl’s Guide to Tea and Tomorrow, a teen girl has the worst Valentine’s Day ever—only to relive it over and over again.

After living through a dumpster fire of a Valentine’s Day, Emilie Hornby escapes to her grandmother’s house for some comfort and a consolation pint of Ben & Jerry’s. She passes out on the couch, but when she wakes up, she’s back home in her own bed—and it’s Valentine’s Day all over again. And the next day? Another horrendous V-Day.

Emilie is stuck in some sort of time loop nightmare that she can’t wake up from as she re-watches her boyfriend, Josh, cheat on her day after day. In addition to Josh’s recurring infidelity, Emilie can’t get away from the enigmatic Nick, who she keeps running into—sometimes literally—in unfortunate ways.

How many times can one girl passively watch her life go up in flames? And when something good starts to come out of these terrible days, what happens when the universe stops doling out do-overs?

Like all of Lynn Painters books, this was super cute! The only thing that rubbed me the wrong way was how Nick was immediately full on in love with her after hanging out for one day. I understand how Emilie got those feelings for Nick, considering she’d been spending countless of days with him and getting to know him, but I don’t understand how Nick felt the same way after he only remembered hanging out with her for one day… I get that they had a good time and that day made him start to like her, but him talking to her for the first time AND falling head over heels in love with her, both on the SAME DAY, is a little too «perfect» and unrealistic. Besides from that, loved it! Lynn Painter my no spice queen forever and always ?

Wasn’t expecting much but really enjoyed this story. Was looking for a sort of palate cleanser after reading a more serious book, darker in tone and this did the trick. I actually prefer this to Better than the Movies, which everyone always recommends. I think the characters feel a bit more real and have some depth.

Your everyday coming of age story with a time loop thrown - an entertaining story for sure. That being said, there were some parts that made me heaaavily cringe - the same ones I know my 16 your old self would have swooned at. So I think you're at that age - you'll definitely enjoy this much more!

Me encantó ?. La historia es súper fresquita a pesar de que la trama pasa durante un día en específico por un tiempo. No es repetitivo ni aburrido, al contrario, hay un buen desarrollo de personajes.

This book is a perfect book imo. It is filled with cuteness, great banter, funny situations, etc. it was such a good read and I think I like it even more than Better Than The Movies if that’s even possible. I love a good time loop story and enemies to lovers is my fave trope. 10/10 love this book and the author!!

Emilie begins to live Valentine's Day over and over again, believing that once she achieves perfection, this effect will end. Therefore, she changes things to avoid crashing her truck, to prevent her boyfriend from kissing his ex-girlfriend, to keep her summer internship, and to ensure her dad doesn't move away and leave her behind. Personally, the idea of reliving the same day is a cliché that I don't like and it can bore me, but I feel that here it was not poorly executed and even though at times it felt very youthful, I generally enjoyed it. It was a light and quick read that made me laugh and even shed a little tear. (Translated from Spanish)
