About this audiobook

Sarah Dessen meets Adam Silvera in the debut YA romance everyone is talking about!

“A breathtaking tour de force of angst and longing. Heartbreaking, painfully romantic, and deeply human.” —STEPHANIE GARBER, #1 bestselling author of Caraval

“A novel you can make yourself at home in, with characters so real it feels like you’ve known them for ages.” —JENNA EVANS WELCH, bestselling author of Love & Gelato

“This book comes with its own aching heartbeat. Be forewarned, it’s stronger than it looks.” —STACEY LEE, award-winning author of The Downstairs Girl

Ellis and Easton have been inseparable since childhood. But when a rash decision throws Ellis’s life—and her relationship with Easton—into chaos, she’s forced to move halfway across the country, far from everything she’s ever known.

Now Ellis hasn’t spoken to Easton in a year, and maybe it’s better that way; maybe eventually the Easton-shaped hole in her heart will heal.

But when Easton’s mom invites her home for a visit, Ellis finds herself tangled up in the web of heartache, betrayal, and anger she left behind . . . and with the boy she never stopped loving.

Kristin Dwyer

Kristin Dwyer grew up under the California sun and prayed every day for a cloudy sky. Now Kristin and her spouse are currently raising their mischief-makers in the hills of North Carolina, where there is just the right amount of clouds. When she’s not writing books about people kissing, Kristin is a part-time hair model and full-time TSA PreCheck. One time a credible news outlet asked for her opinion on K-pop (it was the best day of her life). Please do not talk to her about your fandom; she will try to join.

This book made me feel every emotion possible. I was riveted, the story of a young girl who believes she doesn’t deserve love, one boy who changes her perception on everything. Read. This. Book.

The brokenness that pours from the page chips away at my soul, shattering it. I hate this book and I love this book. I both hate and love it for the emotions that it made me feel. I both hate and love what these characters went through. They will stay with me for a long time.

A beautiful, heartfelt debut, filled to the brim with regret, longing, and of course love, in all its various nuances. Some Mistakes Were Made but reading this book could never be one of them.

Excellent, excellent writing; just some seriously gorgeous prose. Definitely a lot of teen melodrama, but entirely worth the listen and I really enjoyed.

"Some Mistakes Were Made" captured the delight and pain of first love. It was raw and honest, heartbreaking and ultimately uplifting. Ellis was a very sympathetic character and I was hoping she would find the right path. Her emotions and feelings were real, and I loved following her journey. The author captured the idea of family perfectly. Too often the adults in YA novels are dysfunctional but I adored the Albreys and the way they welcomed Ellis into their lives with open arms. The banter between the three brothers (Easton, Dixon and Tucker) was delightful. I adored each of them.I didn't realise this was Kristin's debut novel. She has written a book that many teenagers will relate to as she caught the essence of being a teenager in love and the heartbreak when it is over. A great read.
