STEVE opened the hotel door, swung it wide open and strode onto the wide balcony. “Wow, look at that magnificent ocean view, Caroline,” he said, as he gazed at the endless blue water stretching to the horizon. “It always takes my breath away.”
Caroline put her suitcase on the tiled floor and sighed. She knew that would be the first thing her husband would say when they arrived. In fact, she knew what he was going to say next as well.
He turned and smiled at her contentedly, “It’s soooo good to be back.”
Caroline cringed. Right on cue.
“The weather is absolutely perfect. How about a nice walk along the beach,” Steve suggested. “We can unpack later.”
“I really don’t feel like it, Steve. I think I’m a bit jet-lagged.”
