About this audiobook

Two sisters, one long-ago murder, and a web of terrifying secrets collide in a gripping standalone thriller from acclaimed author Edwin Hill …

At first glance, Natalie Cavanaugh and Glenn Abbott hardly look like sisters. Even off-duty, Natalie dresses like a Boston cop, preferring practical clothes and unfussy, pinned-up hair. Her younger sister, Glenn, seems tailor-made for the spotlight, from her signature red mane to her camera-ready
smile. Glenn has spent years cultivating her brand through her baking blog, and with the publication of her new book, that hard work seems about to pay off. But her fans have no idea about the nightmare in Glenn and Natalie’s past.

Twenty years ago, their father’s body was discovered in the woods behind their house. A trauma like that doesn’t fit with Glenn’s public image. Yet, maybe someone reading her blog does know something. There have been anonymous online messages, vague yet ominous, hinting that
she’s being watched. And with unsettling coincidences hitting ever closer to home, both Glenn and Natalie soon have more pressing matters to worry about, especially when a dead body is found in an abandoned building …

Natalie is starting to wonder how much Glenn really knows about the people closest to her. But are there also secrets Natalie has yet to uncover about those she herself trusts? For two decades, she’s believed their father was murdered by
their neighbor, with whom he was having an affair. But if those events are connected to what’s happening now, maybe there’s much more that Natalie doesn’t know. About their father. About their neighbors. About her friends.

Maybe even about herself.

But there are no secrets between sisters … are there?

Nice, not over the top break from reality. There is the usual death of parents that seems to be on a check list, as well as a family member is a cop, on the genre check list.

I really enjoyed the narrator. For me, she was a perfect fit. I liked some of the tricks, without spoiling, specifically the brick. I thought it was clever, and didn't see it coming. I had trouble keeping the characters separated with their names. Overall, a good read.

This was a Goodreads Giveaway win for me and I found the audio on Scribd.

The Secrets We Share by Edwin Hill Twisted tale of murder, abuse, secrets, lies, deceit and a desire for revenge by at least one character in the story. Riveting read! What I liked: * The writing style with short crisp chapters that drew me in and kept me hooked* Slipping in the backstory in snippet-chapters throughout the book* The neighborhood tract homes with only two built in the past when the first murder took place – reminded me of a tract home we lived in when I was four and another my parents looked at when I was in sixth grade and the age of some of the characters in this story* That two generations of girls were locked into this story by the dead people they found* The side story in the present that impacted everyone* The twists and turns and red herrings* Wondering who the mastermind behind everything was and what the motivation was behind what was happening* Thinking about how and why the original murder had the impact it did on the various characters* Thinking about my family and being thankful it was NOT like the ones in this book* That I was engaged throughout the book* Thinking about what age(s) of reader(s) might enjoy this story * The police procedural aspects of the story* Finding out “the truth” at the end of the story and wondering how the various characters would move forward in the futureWhat I didn’t like: * Who and what I was meant not to like – and there were more than a few people and their actions to dislikeDid I enjoy this book? YesWould I read more by this author? YesThank you to NetGalley and Kensington Publishing for the ARC – This is my honest review. 5 Stars
