Charmaine Pauls was born in Bloemfontein, South Africa. She obtained a degree in Communication at the University of Potchestroom, and followed a diverse career path in journalism, public relations, advertising, communications, photography, graphic design, and brand marketing. Her writing has always been an integral part of her professions.After relocating to Chile with her French husband, she fulfilled her passion to write creatively full-time. Charmaine has published ten novels since 2011, as well as several short stories and articles.When she is not writing, she likes to travel, read, and rescue cats. Violet is fearless and fierce, with such strength that drives her actions, focused on saving her mother and herself from an abusive stepfather. Ready to sacrifice whatever it takes to achieve a set goal. Leon knew from the day he first saw Violet, that she was the one for him and there would not be anything that could stop him from claiming her as his. He's a dominant, possessive, overprotective type, who doesn’t take betrayal lightly, especially when it comes from the least expected Violet. His drive for revenge won’t stop him from using her in the process, or shows his deprived way.
Their relationship is built on secrets, deceit, betrayal and need/want of vengeance. The trust issues and reservations do not help them get closer and overcome their problems. Both are scared to truly and freely show their emotions and openly admit affections. Tension between them is so sensual, palpable and unmistaken, sex scenes hot, smutty and right kind of kinky.
Knowing how engrossing and captivating Charmaine Pauls’s books are, waiting for release dates felt like forever, especially with intention to binge them together. But it was so worth it, I was automatically transferred to Hart’s siblings' world, gripped in an intriguing and fast paced story, with great plot, such expressive characters, drama and whole bundle of emotions waiting to be unleashed. Raw and deep emotions that I could feel oozing from the pages, angst and suspense, kept me on the edge, and left me in tears.
