About this audiobook
Power dynamics in the workplace are a given.
For those in leadership, the imbalance of power often leads to feeling frustrated, undervalued, and overlooked-especially in women and minorities-impacting both self-esteem and the bottom line.
For those feeling alone and unsure of how to respond, Power Up Power Down gives specific strategies to (finally) reclaim control and identifies proven ways to create a ‘win-win” outcome.
Too often, power situations can feel like a “rock and a hard place” – if you’re too assertive, you’re labeled (at best) as overbearing and unapproachable. If you’re too passive, your voice, ideas, and opinions are ignored. But as Viktor Frankl stated, “Between stimulus and response, there is a space.” Our “real” power is knowing how to tap into that space and respond intentionally.
Gail Rudolph helps readers discover how to harness their innate interpersonal power, revealing cues and signals that helps us respond effectively.
By recognizing the ways to value all people (including yourself), you can make a choice to become empowered!
Editor's Note
Balance the power…
“Nobody takes our power. We give it away, often with our silence.” If you’ve ever tried to talk to your boss about a tough topic, or make sure everyone’s voice is heard and respected on a team, then you know balancing power often feels impossible. But Rudolph teaches how to wield power responsibly and effectively in any situation to achieve positive outcomes for everyone.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Very obviously an American writer-very woke corporate undertones. Takes consistently from other writers and others stories, weak analysis, like a pop-editorial, poorly written, another quick-buck capitalist writer of the generation.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is a very nice book/ audiobook! Just as SunTzu claimed, u can win a war without lifting a finger or in other words - using power without force. This book tells us that we can gain power by using our environment to make ourselves better - more mindful, less emotional, become a great listener and always look for a win win solution!
