This book, "The Way of Life," being the first book in the series, has as its theme, the Way into the Christian Life, the Way into Jesus Christ, the Way into God: the Way of Life. It is written specially to help you to find the Lord Jesus, give yourself to Him, and then you will truly begin to live. As you begin to read, we encourage you to press on right to the end and also answer all the questions at the end of each chapter. Our prayer is that, by the time you finish reading it, you will have entered into a living relationship with Jesus and then you, too, can say, "Jesus is my Saviour." May God bless you very richly!

In this book, The Way of Discipleship, we set forth the terms of discipleship as the Lord meant them to be. We know very clearly that Jesus never intended to have converts. He has always wanted disciples. We set forth these truths not from a superior position of those who have "arrived" but from the position of committed students in the School of Discipleship. This book goes out with prayer that the Lord Jesus will use its message to transform converts into disciples

The contents of this book are fundamental. God calls all who are His to a sanctified life. The life of a believer in which sin reigns is subnormal. However, many believers find themselves bound by sin. They are like Lazarus walking out of the tomb with life, but in bondage. In this book, we have attempted to show as clearly as we can, the way to deliverance from sin. We do not believe that anyone can be as sinless as the Lord Jesus was while in this body of flesh, but this state is already accomplished in the Lord Jesus and therefore, we can be delivered once and for all from the bondage of sin. We also see that this deliverance, though entered into as a crisis, must be maintained daily by a very close walk with the Lord, in full co-operation with Him, by the use of the sanctified mind. The Psalmist asked,  "How can a young man keep his way pure?" He provided the answer as follows, "By guarding it according to thy word. With my whole heart I seek thee, let me not wander from thy commandment! I have laid up thy word in my heart, that I might not sin against thee. Blessed be thou, O Lord; teach me thy statutes! With my lips I declare all the ordinances of thy mouth. In the way of thy testimonies I delight as much as in all riches. I will meditate on thy precepts, and fix my eyes on thy ways. I will delight in thy statutes; I will not forget thy word" (Psalm 119:9-16). We believe with him that daily Bible study and prayer (The Quiet Time) is indispensable in maintaining the sanctified life which is first entered into by faith in the finished work of Christ. Holiness is not just the absence of sin. It includes conformity to God. Sanctification is an aspect of holiness. Our prayer is that the Lord will use this book to work out sanctification in many lives and that many will attain unto "the holiness without which no one will see the Lord."

Christian character is all-important. The Lord Jesus wants all His disciples to be like Him in their character. He has put the Holy Spirit in each believer to work that character out. Only those whose character conforms in every way to that of the Lord Jesus can be said to be truly entirely sanctified. This book is about the character of Christ in the life of the Christian. We send it out with prayer that the Almighty Father should use it to work out the character of His begotten Son in His adopted sons.

Spiritual power is needed today. This power is needed to be like Christ in character and in deed. It is the power of God - The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Lord meant that the church as His body, and the believer as a member of His Body, would manifest spiritual power in character and service. The church is, generally speaking, powerless. The lives of many believers are a tragic contradiction of the gospel they talk about. In the face of diseases, demons, and the like, many believers stand totally powerless. There is a growing confidence in human skills, human techniques, human methods, and human organisations. On the whole, many live and act as if God were absent. This ought not to be so. This must not continue to be so. In the life of the church and in the life of each believer, there must be power that cannot be accounted for on any grounds. People looking must be able to say, "This is God at work" and nothing else. The power of the Lord is made available to all who come to Him. His power is manifested in full measure through channels that are fully opened to Him and that give Him the freedom to do His work His way, and in His time. Although spiritual power can be manifested without holiness and obedience, those who are open to and co-operate with the Lord through prayer, the Word, holiness, a surrendered life, Christian character, the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and so on, will begin to experience spiritual power, and as they continue to seek the Lord and His might, they will grow in the knowledge of Him and His might. We send out this book with prayer that it should be used by the Lord to stir hunger after the Lord and the power of His might.

This is a critical book for anyone involved in Christian service. It's an indispensable manual for spiritual leadership. The book is the overflow of a heart under the burden of seeing the marks of the Lordship of Christ in every aspect of Christian service. Service to the Lord or Christian service begins in God and finds its place in God's eternal purpose. It is to be accomplished in the power of the Holy Spirit by men whom God has called to His work.  Christian service is to be done according to God's methods and in God's time. Thus defined, the work of God becomes a very serious responsibility. You don't carry out God's work just when you feel like and the way you want, but as He determines. Read this book and either begin to serve the living God satisfactorily or grow in quality and quantity service for Him.

In this book, the author, Z.T. Fomum, highlights the need for God to have men and women determined and committed to the triumph and glory of God. He's looking for people who are ready for critical battles requiring faith and obedience. The author explains that the Lord is looking for groups of individual overcomers that He will use. Ultimately, He wants the whole Body, the Bride of His Son, to be committed to establishing the kingdom of God on earth through their lives of sacrifice and total surrender. All this is illustrated by the life of Gideon and the 300 overcomers, the life of an individual overcomer like Caleb, an overcomer at work like Joshua, and then, finally, the church and the overcomers. This book is a real instrument of revival in order to lead each saint to cooperate with the Holy Spirit to overcome the flesh and its desires, overcome the world and its desires, overcome the devil and his inspired desires.

I believe that there are some who yearn in an increasing way for the Lord, and in whose hearts the evidence of His soon coming awakens, with each passing day, greater desires to see Him—the Hope of the Ages—face to face. It is because of the presence of such saints in the church today, though their number be few, that I dare share these feelings of my heart in this way. The Way of Loving the Lord is very different from many of the books in The Christian Way Series. It is not an attempt to present the Bible's position on some aspects of Christian Truth. Rather, it is an expression of the yearning and longing—the spiritual emotions of my heart—after the Lord Jesus. May you read this book and be motivated to seek the Beloved, so that the unique desire of your heart should be to know Him and see Him face to face.

There is a war in progress between God and His forces on one side, and the devil and his forces on the other side. Whether you like it or not, you are a part of that war. If you have received the Lord Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, God has enroled you in His army and expects you to fight for Him and with Him. If you have not yet received the Lord Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, then you are on the devil's side, fully registered in his army, even if you have good intentions. If you do not yet belong to the Lord Jesus, then the devil wants to ensure that you never leave his army. If you already belong to the Lord Jesus, then the devil aims at : making you as ineffective as possible. using you as a spy to betray the Lord Jesus. You cannot be neutral. By your every thought, word and deed, you are helping to advance one of the two sides in the conflict. With your every second, minute, hour and day, you are either working with God for the advancement of His army and Kingdom or helping the devil, His rival, to build his army and kingdom. You do well to choose rightly. The Lord Jesus won the great victory over the devil and his host on the cross. We consider it a great privilege to proclaim that victory. We are compelled by the very nature of the truth to present Jesus as the Saviour, Teacher, Deliverer, Healer and Victor, even though we have only experienced Him as our Healer to a limited degree. The great extent to which we have seen Him work as the Deliverer gives us hope that we shall soon see Him move in a limitless way as the Healer. I have consulted the books: "Love not the World" by Watchman Nee and "War on the Saints" by Jessie Penn-Lewis as I wrote these messages. In addition, my experience of walking with Christ for 18 years has undoubtedly provided the ground work for this book. As companion volumes to this book, we have also written: "Deliverance from Demons" and "The Overthrow of Principalities." It will be necessary to read these two books to have a complete picture of spiritual warfare as we see it.

This book presents suffering for the Lord as an inevitable thing. It posits suffering as one of the great promises of the Lord Jesus Christ to all who are determined to serve Him faithfully, as He deserves to be served. Prof Z.T.  Fomum demonstrates, through the teachings of Jesus Christ, that it is impossible to escape persecution while remaining true to the Lord. The apostle Paul certifies it, saying, "In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted"(2 Timothy 3:12).
