Easter means different things to different people.

For some its a Christian holiday which marks the important events in the bible; when Jesus died on the cross and rose again.

And for some its the joy of easter egg hunts and receiving those delicious chocolate eggs.

These days Easter is represented by eggs: which have the symbolic meaning of new life and rebirth.

It is thought that the tradition of eggs became a custom in the medieval period.

Eating eggs was forbidden during the period of Lent (The 40 days before Easter) so on Easter Sunday having an egg was a real treat!
