Description
I used to think that being open to healing would be something easy to do until it was my turn to heal. And instead of welcoming healing, I found myself wanting to run away from it.Why? Because it meant that I needed to run towards my triggers and, in turn, my generational trauma (which, if you aren't aware, passes on to you through your DNA). And that wasn't going to be an easy process to go through.I felt that as a mom, it was just easier to stay in my bubble of reality and keep trying to learn parenting tips instead of trying to understand why I felt the way I felt and did the things I did.Better to focus on my kid's behavior than my own. But, that way of parenting also led to feeling depleted, overwhelmed, constant mommy guilt, and all the things that other parents told me were part of being a mom (Hint: it's not). Had I not continued anyway, despite the work it would take to heal, I never would've reached the way of parenting that I lead now, which is one of self-awareness, confidence, ease, and flow. For my co-host, Inas, his journey was one he was open to leaning into, without the same hesitation that I experienced. So, you'll hear both sides of healing as a parent, from being open to it to running away from it. And what happens when you do go through the time to heal as a parent.Learn more at gisellebaumet.com.
