Sounds counterintuitive but what if instead, you focused on the life or social lesson you're really trying to teach?There was recently a mom that was mad that her kiddo lied, an obvious lie. And through that lie didn't even do what they were supposed to do. Now that's frustrating!She kept getting comments to have a consequence for the lie. Take something away, have a consequence, and other variations that were basically focusing on the lie.But, was it about the lie? Or the life and social lesson that the lie represents.And what if instead, she was to focus on the lesson she's trying to teach, which isn't "don't lie".
