Description

Are you happy with the direction our country is headed and how it impacts our school-age kids? Whether it's the economy, climate change, the mental health of our kids, LGBTQ, or something else impacting our world today, there's probably something you care deeply about that you feel you have no control over. What if there was something you can do to solve the big issues of our time so that the world we pass onto our kids is in better shape than it is today? In this episode, mother and daughter Cynthia Changyit Levin and Yara Changyit-Levin talk about how moms and kids can get involved in advocacy and lobbying.Mentioned in this episode: Sunrise Movement https://www.sunrisemovement.org/About the Guest:Cynthia Changyit Levin is the author of From Changing Diapers to Changing the World: Why Moms Make Great Advocates and How to Get Started. They are the author of a forthcoming non-fiction book about political advocacy for people under 18 years old, as well as numerous creative writing projects (LGBTQ+ Jewish pirates, missing persons case that turns into a quest across the Judaism-inspired fantasy world, ghosts with dubious intentions, found family trope, etc).Check out Yara's blog at https://yarachangyitlevin.wixsite.com/website.
