Description

Welcome to episode 1 of our new show, The Responsibility Series, on the Areni Global podcast, brought to you in association with Moët Hennessy. Today’s episode is called “Soil Health” which delves into the new soil mandate that is being drafted for June 7th and the issues around soil health in Europe as well as some of the solutions being proposed to mitigate and even reverse the damage to this precious and finite resource.

Pauline Vicard and Felicity Carter furnish this conversation with clips from the 2023 edition of ChangeNOW, organized in Paris on May 25, 26 and 27, 2023, through the WLSF Soils Hub, by Moët Hennessy. The “Protecting & Regenerating Soils For Sustainable Viticulture and Agriculture in Europe” forum brought together foremost experts, activists, and agriculture/viticulturalists to debate on the topic. You will hear experts such as Virginijus Sinkevicius, the European Commissioner for Environment, Oceans and Fisheries, Faustine Bas-Defossez, the Director for Nature, Health and Environment at the European Environmental Bureau, and Sandrine Sommer, the Head of Sustainability for Moet Hennessy express their thoughts and warnings, as well as put forward new initiatives in their efforts to help the current state of affairs when it comes to our soil’s health.
