Description

Welcome to the Areni Global podcast. Today’s episode is entitled “How To Be Extraordinary”. Host Pauline Vicard speaks with Dr. Kiko Thiel to discuss her search on the extraordinary and what makes people do extraordinary things. Her research distinguishes between excellence and the extraordinary, and between incremental innovation vs. the outer reaches of radical innovation - paradigm creation. Dr. Thiel focuses in particular on the mindsets and behaviors that enable the creation of the extraordinary, the creation of new paradigms and outliers that challenge our notion of reality, or our notion of what's possible. But how can this notion of excellence vs. the extraordinary be applied to the world of Fine Wine? To find out, tune in!

More about today’s guest Dr. Kiko Thiel:

Kiko Thiel researches, writes and speaks about the difference between excellence and the extraordinary, and the journey individuals undergo when they depart from the status quo to create a new paradigm. She brings to her academic research over 25 years of experience consulting to major corporations in Europe, Japan, Africa, and the Middle East, spanning insurance, mining, oil and gas, high tech, and the fashion and cosmetics industries. She specialised in leadership and organizational change at McKinsey and Accenture, and in Blue Ocean Strategy innovation with Insead professors Chan Kim and Renee Mauborgne. Kiko has a PhD in Organizational Behavior from Case Western Reserve University, an MBA from Insead, BA History from Yale, speaks English, Japanese, and French, and has lived half of her life in Europe, and the other half in Japan and the US.
