There were 111 total penalty minutes in Game 4 of the VGK-Oilers series on Wednesday night, and 93 of those minutes came in the third period. The game had an ugly ending, but Edmonton dominated in a 4-1 final. The Golden Knights dug themselves a hole early on two Shea Theodore slashing penalties and a Theodore turnover. They trailed 2-0 and Edmonton continued to play a physical game that eventually got out of hand. The final two minutes were anything but hockey as VGK's Alex Pietrangelo was first checked hard, head first into the boards by Evander Kane. Then Pietrangelo retaliated with a vicious slash on the wrist of Leon Draisaitl and more fracases broke out. The refs hit Darnell Nurse of the with an instigator penalty as he and Nick Hague dropped the gloves. We will see if Nurse and/or Pietrangelo face discipline and a suspension in Game 5. The lone VGK goal was by Nic Roy. VGK had several pushes during the game but was turned back by Stuart Skinner of the Oilers.
