Description
Series 2, episode 8 of the Sustainability Champions Podcast ?
Introducing Amy Munro, Sustainability Officer at 11th Hour Racing, an organisation that was established to create strategic partnerships to promote collaborative, systemic change addressing environmental issues.
The organisation founded 11th Hour Racing to use the power of sport to restore a balanced relationship between people and the planet.
From working to eliminate single-use plastic at regattas, this organisation has evolved to integrate sponsorships, grantmaking and an ambassador program to champion collaborative, systematic change across the sailing and sports communities to benefit our ocean.
Although competing against other teams in ‘The Great Race’, this team's main goal is to integrate sustainability into the value of their organisation and inspire others to do the same across the entirety of their operation while educating, innovating and inspiring people with critical messaging of ocean stewardship.
A unique episode, this is the first sustainability champion our channel has highlighted and interviewed within the sporting world! This week, we speak with Amy Munro to learn more about the 11th Hour Racing organisation, their sailboat team, the Great Race their sailors are currently competing in and how this team is pioneering an environmentally conscious future - one degree at a time.
