Description
Self care is more than just bubble baths and face masks. It’s about diving deep and getting to the root of your trauma, triggers and boundaries. It can be as simple as asking ourselves often “What am I actually feeling?” and being honest with ourselves about the answer.
The truth is: being selfish is okay. You have to take care of yourself before you can take care of others.
Burnout will impact your ability to show up if you aren’t acknowledging it and practicing self care.
Self care is for men, too! It’s important for all of us to feel okay. It all starts with us having these conversations with one another.
In today’s episode, we hear from Charlene Izere. She is the founder of both Wellness Delivered and Melanin and Money; events that focus on how self care meets community care as well as networking for women of color and their allies.
Join us as we talk about why self care is about thriving instead of surviving and ways to get started in self care and community care today.
Wellness Delivered and Melanin and Money will be taking place in the Knoxville, TN and Atlanta, GA areas. Follow @charleneizere on Instagram for more information!

Quitting Corporate: What if I told you that your success will be measure by how stupid you're willing to look? Fo real. Thnk of the most successful person you know. They had audacious dreams and one day they decided to chase them. When the Wright brothers decided they wanted to fly and built the first airplane do you know how stupid they looked to everyone that said it couldn't be done? They looked stupid...and then they soared. Literally. In this episode I discuss why it's so important to take big risks, why millennials get such a bad rep and the miracle that happened when I said "Yes" to following my dream.
