Description

Pam is one of my favorite teachers from the Midwest who has stretched and deepened my spiritual understanding of horses.  In this interview, she does not disappoint!  If you are curious about why we are here and your purpose in life or connection to the earth and to animals, you will want to tune in to this conversation. We connected through a poster of Pam with her horse at The Festival of The Horse and Drum outside of Chicago many years ago, on the hottest day of the year.  Later, I was a speaker at her Horses and Hearts Retreat at Coach Horse Ranch, and became an Equine Certified Facilitator with Pam over the years.  She was, and still is one of the pioneers in the industry of Equine Assisted Coaching.I loved hearing that Black Beauty was also a part of her story, as it is for many, and her deep connection with her mother in her formative years with horses and even today in her work with others.  It was her mom who read Black Beauty in the tub and that inspired her to buy 3 horses for her daughters, and eventually they had a herd of 15.  Later in life, the idea of "Equine Assisted Mental Health... was not even a thing, and then it fell in to [Pam's} lap."  As she says of her first course of study at Prescott College,  "we learned on the ranch, not from a book..." Pam's explanation of Skin Memory and Bone Memory around the 10-15 minute mark is fascinating.  She has studied with many tribes and was eventually called to bring a tipi to her own land, which she has also learned to work with and listen to.   Around the 23 minute mark, she talks about The Eagle Story with a herd of yearlings, and what eagles and young horses whinnying may represent spiritually. In the second half of this interview, we consider how to reach people who may not understand or know that horses have a spiritual dimension to them.  Pam talks about learning to work withe her horses at Liberty and studying with the trainers behind Cavalia, and addressing the more masculine training methods that have been passed down with these new ways we are learning that are universal.  We also talk about how to support animals in crossing over the rainbow bridge, and where we live and why.Connect with Pam here:Website: https://equineaca.com/Youtube: Pam Kachelmeier - https://www.youtube.com/@PamKachelmeierEquineACA/featured (this only has 3 videos and 19 subs last upload was 7 years ago, but the link of this channel is in her website navigation)Youtube: Pamela Kachelmeier: https://www.youtube.com/@coachhorse1 (this has the most recent upload and more subs the link for this channel is found on her video vlog)Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/equineaca/ (found her fb group page as well)Business email: support@equineaca.comIn case no one has told you today, we want to wish you a Happy Valentine's Day and remind you that WE LOVE YOU, and so does an animal in your home, or nearby - perhaps today is your "GOTCHA DAY!!"   Reach out to me to join my "Get Fit with Your Dog (or other animal)" program and we can embark on a three month journey of getting healthy and healing with your pet today.  We also have a new HAAH community coming soon.... stay tuned to Horses, Mountains & Dogs to find out more.Connect with me, Cat Caldwell Myers, here:Instagram@catcaldwellmyersFacebookHorses, Mountains & Dogs Facebook Pagewww.catcaldwellmyers.comSupport the show

This Podcast returns us to the wisdom of our great grandparents and ancestors who likely worked with horses, mountains and dogs daily. Each episode contains actionable tools, tips and stories for modern day families and people to connect with nature through animals, as we have done for millennia. The work is a reflection of the truth about who we were, who we are, and who we might become if we only take the time to listen and work together with horses, mountains and dogs to grow mentally, physically, and spiritually one day at a time.
