Description

LSU fans were shocked and rejoiced when star WR Kayshon Boutte announced less than a month ago that we would return to LSU for his senior season. On Wednesday afternoon, LSU football released a statement saying that Boutte "will not be available" for the Citrus Bowl against the Purdue Boilermakers, but did not cite a reason why number 7 would not suit up in the postseason. Just a few hours after that announcement, Boutte took to Twitter to announce that he will indeed declare for the 2023 NFL Draft. What changed? Why did Kayshon Boutte change his mind, and more importantly, what does that mean for LSU football and its wide receiver room next season?
LSU returns it's leading receiver in Malik Nabers next season along with Brian Thomas and Kyren Lacy and three four-star wide receivers in the 2023 recruiting class. Boutte had 48 receptions for 538 yards and just two touchdowns this season.
