Setting a goal and visualizing his future kept Aaron Volpatti going when he burned 40% of his body at the young age of 19. Aaron’s passion and love of hockey came to what he thought would be an abrupt halt in 2005, but his determination continued, ultimately leading him to a 5-year career playing professional hockey. In this episode, we talk with the former NHL player for the Vancouver Canucks and Washington Capitals as he shares his story as a burn survivor and the intimate details of his journey to playing for the NHL through his work with visualization. Aarons shares an example of what it means to ‘visualize’ your future and discusses how his passion for hockey continued to drive his ability to overcome adversity with his burn injury and beyond. About Aaron Volpatti Aaron Volpatti is an Author, Cognitive Performance and Injury Coach, Speaker, retired NHL player, burn survivor, and a Brown University- B.Sc Human Biology graduate. A pioneer in Cinematic Visualization and athletic performance, Aaron’s unique practice has helped athletes worldwide.  Born and raised in Revelstoke, British Columbia, he is a guitar aficionado and wannabe rockstar.
