Description
After a burn injury, many survivors and their loved ones seek to gather resources of all kinds—and for many, legal counsel is an area that may be sought out to understand if the injuries sustained warrant legal action. While there may be a lot happening for a survivor and their family during this early time of recovery, many may have many questions about what legal action after an injury may look like. In this episode, we talk about commonly asked questions regarding legal action after a burn injury, seek to understand and learn more about the complexities of a personal injury case, and take real-time questions from burn survivors who seek to understand more about hiring a legal attorney. With the help of our guest host and Courage Rising member Hailey Boyce, we talk with our Season One sponsor, Pritzker Hageman, and learn more about Hailey’s recent Mt. Kilimanjaro climb! About Our Guests Eric Hageman and David Coyle are burn-injury lawyers at Pritzker Hageman, P.A., a national law firm that helps burn survivors obtain justice. Eric has been a plaintiffs’ lawyer, exclusively representing injured people, for over 27 years, while David has almost ten years of experience. Along with the other lawyers at Pritzker Hageman, Eric and David work together with their clients to pursue accountability for people who have been harmed through the negligence of others. Hailey Boyce is a burn survivor and a member of Team Courage Rising. Hailey’s accident happened in 2016. Her vaporizer malfunctioned and blew up, causing 2nd & 3rd-degree burns on 30% of her body. In June, she summited Kilimanjaro. The trek up Kilimanjaro was organized so seven other survivors and Hailey could help raise funds for the new Arizona burn center. The team at Valleywise did an amazing job taking care of me during my recovery, I wanted to give back in any way I could. There is also a documentary being released in April about survivorship, recovery, & the Kilimanjaro hike.
