Description

TW: weight and body image
On top of Danielle dating on national television, both of your hosts are now dating in their 30s, which is uncharted territory for Jac. So, this episode is all about dating — whether it be IRL, on the apps, or on a popular television show, they cover it all! D opens up about her best efforts dating on the apps, and Jac emphasizes the importance of giving yourself time to heal and grieve a past relationship before jumping in to a new one. She also shares a tip she heard that said finding a long-term partner is similar to finding a business partner when it comes to the qualities you should be looking for. They also cover how different they find dating in their 30s, as opposed to in their 20s, as the type of men they look for changed with the increase of self-confidence that comes with age. Plus, let’s be honest...more people can afford therapy in their 30s, and that’s a bonus for everyone involved. However, they don’t want you to think it’s all sunshine and roses, as they dive in to the insecurities that come up still while dating. They share their ideal first dates, and how awkward first dates aren’t necessarily a bad thing! They also touch on toxic masculinity and how we may be perpetuating toxic archetypes, the pressure of having kids as you get older, and freezing your eggs (something that interests them both). Lastly, Jac leaves us with a horrible first date experience she had recently. Hey, all good Jac… on to the next!!

The WoMed is a space to discuss, debate, and celebrate all things Women in Medicine! Danielle Maltby is joined by co-host Jackie Camardo to bring new issues and faces to light in the medical community. These nursing vets bring humor, reality, and a serious passion for the world around them to discussions on self-care, emerging healthcare trends, education, activism, patient stories, and pop culture representation of the industry. The hosts welcome not just women in medicine, but members of the LGBTQ communities in medicine as well, to ensure more people have a platform to amplify their voices. They are also joined by some of the industry’s biggest experts and thought-leaders! Nothing is off-limits, so listeners should come prepared to laugh, (maybe cry), and tune in to meaningful conversations that could change the way you see healthcare.
