Description

In part two of our catch up with former co-host and nurse extraordinaire, D and Dani talk about everything from treating COVID-19 patients with humanity and their thoughts on people protesting during the pandemic to their favorite healthcare-themed shows to binge in quarantine and whether Dani has some extra toilet paper to spare. Dani shares the story she posted on her Instagram account, @nurseabnormalities, that proves what a difference it makes to treat patients as people first. The two explore the diverse ways people are viewing nurses at the moment (either heroes or hated) and what life will look like after quarantine (will we kiss anymore!?). Although we may be fighting when it comes to toilet paper, we all need to remember to take care of each other and look out for our loved ones during this time. Stay healthy, WoMed listeners!

The WoMed is a space to discuss, debate, and celebrate all things Women in Medicine! Danielle Maltby is joined by co-host Jackie Camardo to bring new issues and faces to light in the medical community. These nursing vets bring humor, reality, and a serious passion for the world around them to discussions on self-care, emerging healthcare trends, education, activism, patient stories, and pop culture representation of the industry. The hosts welcome not just women in medicine, but members of the LGBTQ communities in medicine as well, to ensure more people have a platform to amplify their voices. They are also joined by some of the industry’s biggest experts and thought-leaders! Nothing is off-limits, so listeners should come prepared to laugh, (maybe cry), and tune in to meaningful conversations that could change the way you see healthcare.
