Description

Today on The WoMed, Dr. Kristamarie Collman (@drkristamarie) joins D and Dani to talk about the importance of mentorship, her choice to pursue family medicine, and the motivation behind her empowering social media presence. Dr. Collman first became interested in the medical field at a young age due to her brother’s rare genetic disorder, and this interest ultimately grew into a love of science and all things medicine. Training in family medicine has allowed her to experience a variety of fields and pursue all of her many interests from weight management to esthetics. Dr. Collman shares what it was like to maintain a relationship with her now-fiancé during residency, what a typical work week looks like for her between urgent care and locum tenens, and makes a huge announcement about an upcoming book. Plus, hear Dr. Collman’s biggest piece of advice when it comes to her flawless skin.

The WoMed is a space to discuss, debate, and celebrate all things Women in Medicine! Danielle Maltby is joined by co-host Jackie Camardo to bring new issues and faces to light in the medical community. These nursing vets bring humor, reality, and a serious passion for the world around them to discussions on self-care, emerging healthcare trends, education, activism, patient stories, and pop culture representation of the industry. The hosts welcome not just women in medicine, but members of the LGBTQ communities in medicine as well, to ensure more people have a platform to amplify their voices. They are also joined by some of the industry’s biggest experts and thought-leaders! Nothing is off-limits, so listeners should come prepared to laugh, (maybe cry), and tune in to meaningful conversations that could change the way you see healthcare.
