Description

Hello and welcome back to The Big Run... Todays guest is Ryan Willms Ryan is a Creative Director, podcast host, holistic life coach and magazine founder. He uses movement as a tool for self-exploration as well as performance. Originally from Canada but now based out in LA he works with hugely established brands to create rich and meaningful experiences. In this conversation, we touch on his early life in Canada and starting inventory magazine out of a one-bedroom apartment that was a photo studio, meeting room, hr and everything else in between to grinding down his own physical and mental health through flat out work in the fashion industry to his own journey of self-discovery through alternative medicines and practices before moving onto his experience with movement, the foundational role it plays in his life and how mindfulness and endurance can go hand in hand… You can find more about Ryan and his work at https://www.ryanwillms.com/  The Mindfulness Endurance programme here: https://mindfulenduranceprogram.substack.com/p/mep-welcome?s=w And the run programme here: https://www.instagram.com/p/CaLAbLVvdXu/  ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ****COMPETITION INFORMATION**** Im pleased to announce that this month Big Run is supported by SOAR Running. SOAR produce high-performance running apparel – from the fastest race-kit on the market, to fit for purpose, function-first training staples. And, they are soon to launch a women’s range. This spring SOAR are giving you – and a running partner - the chance to win a Marathon System each. Comprised of a pair of marathon shorts with integrated storage for up to 6 in-race gels, plus an ultra lightweight Race Vets 4.0 – weighing in at just 47g in a size M. For your chance to win they want to hear about a performance by a training partner, or friend of yours, which has inspired you recently. It’s not just about smashing a PB or breaking the tape though. Performance can – and does – mean different things to different folk. So we want to hear about a performance which has inspired you, stood out to you, or overcome adversity. It doesn’t need to be race-related either, it can be training progress, a huge personal feat, returning from injury or embracing a new running challenge. We just want to hear why it’s inspired you, and is a worthy winner, in no more than 250 words! To submit your nominee – and be in with a chance to win – simply email your tale to alex.i@soarrunning.com with ‘Performance Of The Month’ in the subject line. Nominations must be in by Monday 11th April. Then, I’ll be sitting down with the team at SOAR to decide our chosen winner, based on the case we think is most compelling. Both the winning nominee and nominator will win a Marathon System and we’ll announce the winner later in April. What’s more…. SOAR are also offering 15% off for listeners of the Big Run Podcast until the end of April – so kit yourself out for spring race day, or the summer miles ahead and enter code bigrun15 when checking out at soarrunning.com
