Description

There’s a troubling trend developing with some Miami Hurricanes fans already losing complete faith in Mario Cristobal and his staff after just four games. It’s become evident that the year one expectations from many were unrealistic. The Canes still have a ton of work to do. Losing to Middle Tennessee at home is inexcusable but now it’s up to this highly paid, highly touted coaching staff to come up with the answers.
Host Alex Donno breaks down the ways Miami failed against the Blue Raiders and it’s a combination of coaching, attitude, and execution. Players are certainly not exempt from blame. Cristobal interited most of these players and plenty of problems from Manny Diaz and it’s going to take some time to overhaul the culture. Donno would like to see more creativity and aggression from the offensive play-calling, though. He theorizes that Josh Gattis has been calling plays in a way that indicates he doesn’t trust Tyler Van Dyke. If that’s the case, making the permanent switch to Jake Garcia might be the right move. Garcia looked more comfortable executing the playbook and things opened up a bit when he entered the game.
Donno reads comments and tweets from listeners on the current state of the Miami Hurricanes. We need to trust the coaches and hope they can find answers between now and the matchup with North Carolina on October 8th. Miami had some encouraging plays from wide receivers Key’Shawn Smith and Frank Ladson in the loss to MTSU. The offensive line needs to return to their form of the first 3 games. Jalen Rivers admitted that Miami took the Blue Raiders lightly. This needs to be a learning experience for EVERYONE.
