Description
Legendary former Miami Hurricanes head coach Howard Schnellenberger used to refer to everything south of Orlando as "The State of Miami" and always worked to lock down the top local talent. Over the years, big programs in the SEC, Big 10, and Florida State have chipped away at the top prospects in the area. With the arrival of Mario Cristobal and his all star staff, they'll look to repair some of the previously damaged relationships with local high schools and lock down the top area prospects once again.
Top South Florida recruiting analyst Larry Blustein joins host Alex Donno to recap Mario Cristobal's first 6 months at The U and how quickly the local recruiting has escalated during that time. The guys discuss Hurricanes quarterback Tyler Van Dyke and whether the offense this season might be less pass-heavy than it was in 2022. Could his draft stock be negatively affected? And more importantly, will have have a true number one receiver this year?
The guys break down the cornerback position and where Miami stands with big time 2023 prospects like Cormani McClain and Damari Brown. How many corners will Miami need to sign in 2023 after signing a solid quartet of CB's in '22? Larry predicts whether Cristobal will be able to assemble a top 10 recruiting class in 2023 or whether that will take an extra year to establish.
