Description

We have heard the word compassion and we have a general sense of what that means but what about self compassion? Today we are joined by a very special guest, Dr. Kristin Neff, author of Fierce Self Compassion. She is a pioneer in the field of self compassion research. Listen as she shares her story on how she discovered her work and really her purpose.
In this episode you will learn:

What self compassion is
The major difference between self compassion and self esteem
How to develop self compassion
What blocks people from building self compassion
What you can do to practice self compassion
The physiology behind self criticism
What is fierce vs. tender self compassion

Dr. Kristin shares so much amazing and powerful information in this episode! She really grounds for us that self compassion makes us incredibly strong and resilient. When we feel connected to others, when we feel loved by others, then we feel safe. We naturally do this for those we care about and practicing self compassion teaches us how to do this for ourselves.
Dr. Kristin shared some amazing resources and she talked about her book that is coming out June 15th. You can find all this information on her website: https://self-compassion.org/. Please see Dr. Kristin’s bio below. We really enjoyed this episode and hope you did too! Happy listening :)
