After an 8-5 2021 season, Arizona State Football finds itself in a precarious spot after the lowest-ranked recruiting class in the Pac-12 in 2022. Going into next season, they will have to make due without QB Jayden Daniels who transferred to LSU this offseason. Several quarterbacks showcased some nice moments in the Spring Showcase, but Florida transfer QB Emory Jones appears locked in to the starting job for Herm Edwards--who needs to produce a strong 2022 season.

With the departure of Rachaad White to the NFL Draft (3rd round to Tampa Bay Buccaneers), a prominent ball carrier might need to step up this year--and Deonce Elliot showed why he might be that guy. With the potential of Jermayne Lole leaving the program, an opportunity could be created for someone like Dylan Hall who showed promise in the Spring Showcase. Khoury Bethley could become a prominent player on the back end of the Sun Devils' defense as well.
Going forward, the QB battle is the biggest question remaining for Herm Edwards and the Sun Devils. After missing 2021 with a triceps injury, Jermayne Lole is poised to be arguably Arizona State's best defensive player--but there's a real possibility he could end up transferring out of Tempe. Unfortunately for ASU, transfers going away from the program have been a recurring theme this offseason.
