Following the best draft class in program history in just year two under Dave Aranda, John Garcia Jr. of Sports Illustrated joins to share how this will jolt Baylor's recruiting in the future. As a hotbed for NFL talent, and on the cusp of having four NFL offensive linemen next season, something is brewing in Waco.
Outside of the draft and inside the walls of McLane, a quarterback battle has been settled. Blake Shapen has beat out Gerry Bohanon for the starting job. So, what does this mean for Baylor? John gives his thoughts on how dynamic and electric Shapen can be in the Baylor offense and even tackles the comparison between Shapen and Zach Wilson. The forward has entered the transfer portal, despite expecting to stay in the NBA draft process. Mayer's return to Baylor is nearly impossible now that Scott Drew and company have filled all available scholarships — that is, assuming Adam Flagler returns.
