Description

Today I wanted to share a few things that have been inspiring me lately along with a little resource guide to navigating the change of seasons. This is always a beautiful time to reflect, take inventory, and connect with what resources you. Here in the southern hemisphere we are descending into Autumn and finding our place in the darker half of the year and for those in the northern hemisphere, you are just emerging into Spring as life is expanding. A beautiful place to start with nourishing a relationship to the seasons is noticing your surroundings and what is changing. For me, this is watching my garden change colour and allowing what was once colourful and full of life to gently go to seed and allow what's left as an offering to the birds and the microorganisms hungry for life below. It's the early morning sun that greets my bedroom window at holy hours, and the feeling of crisper air on my lips as I sip my warm tea. I quite enjoy this time of year as it invites me to see change as something that is life-giving and beautiful. It is also a time to harvest what the seasons prior have gifted both physically and metaphorically. I love to reconnect with different tools and practices throughout this season as I tend to have a deeper desire for nourishment and routine to keep my internal light aflame. Practices that you may find nourishing during a change in season or for any change you may be experiencing for that matter could be...Morning pages or moon pagesWalking and taking in all the elements with your sensesPrayer and meditation Starting a weekly dinner party or circle Cooking with what's in seasonGrounding and breathe Taking inventory, setting goals, and action steps Here are a few updates in my world and a few ways I am connecting with this seasonal change...Spending more time in the kitchen soaking grains and making bread Tea, thyme and gingerThe first blueberry buckle of the season along with corn cooked on the firePicking the last of the seasons flowers and letting our garden turn to rest The intimacy of friendships and honouring each other's growth Slow morning walks and noticing the smells Long baths with raw milk, baking soda, honey face masks, and magnesium. Rediscovering the books ends of my day, how do I rise and rest? Grounding practices, meditation, walking Rediscovering my authentic self through different mediums
