Description
We should have multiple sources of income to protect our businesses and our personal lives. This means that we should have various revenue streams from several products or services making up our total income.
Types of Income Streams for Communications Professionals
Consulting is an easy add-on if you provide done-for-you services. This is great for organizations that need someone to teach their internal teams how to deliver a certain result.
Memberships and community groups are a great long-term strategy. If you build an active community, you would have an engaged audience who will give you feedback and market research, and who will be your best brand ambassadors.
Books and infoproducts give you credibility so you can increase your fees. They also be additional revenue.
Brainstorming Additional Streams of Income
A business should have at least seven revenue streams. At Spin Sucks we have eight. If you need some ideas for additional income streams, check out what your competitors are offering outside their core business. Your clients are another great source of ideas: what other services do they buy? What problems do they mention to you that you don’t currently solve? Give them an easy way to keep you top-of-mind when they have other challenges to solve. Finally, talk to your colleagues and your team. Their diverse perspectives can be a goldmine as they may see opportunities you may not.
Have Your Say
What are your different revenue streams? If you don’t have enough of them, what are you going to try? Share them in the Spin Sucks community.
