Description

You may know Tia Mowry from her role on Sister, Sister in the '90s in whichshe starred opposite her identical twin sister, Tamera Mowry. What you may not know is Tia is a big advocate for food that's not just healthy but that's healthy and delicious, which was the inspiration for her cookbook, Whole New You.From the age of 12, Tia loved being in the kitchen with her mom, starting as her mom's sous chef and eventually cooking multiple meals a week for her family. Everything changed, however, in 2006 when she was diagnosed with endometriosis, and her doctor recommended she change her diet. It was then Tia began to understand how food can be medicine.I sat down with Tia on the mbg podcast to hear about her wellness journey and how it has influenced who she is today. As a mother to her 7-year-old son, Cree, and 8-month-old daughter, Cairo, Tia lets us in on how she prioritizes wellness for herself and in her family's busy life.In this episode you'll hear about:The yearlong diet Tia credits for helping her conceive her first childHow Tia gets her kids excited in the kitchen! The No. 1 piece of advice she would give for couples struggling with infertilityTia opens up about the struggles she faced during her pregnancies and why she felt compelled to write her first book, Oh, Baby! She tells us about the times when wellness has fallen to the bottom of her priority list and the two practices she turns to that always bring it back up. "You have to prioritize yourself and take care of you," she says, acknowledging that it's easier said than done. Her personal stories, advice, and go-to routines will inspire you to find forgiveness for yourself, no matter where you are in your wellness journey. To contact Colleen or Jason with comments, questions, or speaker ideas, please email podcast@mindbodygreen.com.
