About this ebook

During my life's journey, these various stories were told to me, and the Lord had me use them in my books--all four volumes of them. It is my hope and prayer that these stories will help others to see that He will help them too.

    The Plan of Salvation

    About the Author

Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

    —Hebrews 10:26

    Chapter 1

    You Cannot Worship

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.

    —1 Peter 5:8

Two family members, Mel and Stanley, were in discussion about worshiping. Mel was adamant that personnel in military service cannot worship God. It's not known where his thinking about this was at.

Stanley was just adamant that personnel in military service can and do worship the Lord, both in their daily walk and when it is time for Sunday services.

You just cannot do so, Mel stated.

Yes, you can, Stanley stated. You can worship Him every day throughout your life.

Mel was starting to get somewhat hot under the collar about this.

Stanley thought it was wise to end the discussion about this, and nothing else was said about it the rest of their time together during that visit. After a while, they went their separate ways, not because of their discussion disagreement but because life did take them in different directions after this visit.

Not long after their discussion, Stanley thought about the following and wished he could have asked Mel this question: If you cannot worship God while you're on active duty, then why are their chapels and chaplains in the various military services of this country?

I've been told that man has a desire to worship. Unfortunately, it's not always the Savior they worship, it's often the material items. Man has often worshiped false gods and idols.

It is my desire to try to reach these people and give them the truth about who it is they and all of mankind should worship.

    Chapter 2

    The Balloons

And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.

    —Mark 9:42

Some time ago, the Baptist congregation—after their morning and evening services one Sunday—released helium-filled balloons, and they drifted north. Tied to each balloon was a track giving the plan of salvation.

How long and how far these balloons drifted I do not know. One of them landed not far from a guy that was cutting the grass and trimming around the gravestones in a cemetery. He picked it up and was somewhat startled to read: If you should die today, would you be in heaven or hell?

Working in a cemetery like he was, no doubt that would tend to rattle a guy's cage, so to speak.

He called the phone number provided and talked to the pastor and relayed to him how he came to have the track that had fallen near him while he was working in the graveyard.

At first, he thought someone was hiding nearby with a video camera, but that was soon dismissed. They talked for a while, and I am sure the pastor talked to him about the plan of salvation.

Just as the worker was not expecting the balloon to fall at his feet like that, we do not know what life will bring to us on a daily basis (Proverbs 27:1).
