About this ebook

She's been my employee for a long time. But tonight she'll be something different--mine.

I'm Aurora's boss, and I've watched her from the vantage point of my desk for more than a year, too hung up on what my father would think to actually make a move.
But Aurora has been watching me, too, and I could read that body language anywhere.
She wants me. Just as badly as I want her.
If she can see beyond my notorious past, then today's the day I will defy my father and go after the one thing I want most.
Aurora Kerr.

    Chapter One

Many people dislike their job, but I’m not one of them. Working in an office taking monotonous incoming phone calls as a customer service representative isn’t my dream career by any means, but I don’t mind it. Mostly because I have my own little cubicle that separates me from the rest of the office and gives me something that resembles privacy if I need or want it.

It also gives me a perfect, unobstructed view of my boss’s office. That in itself is a damn good reason to need the sliver of privacy I’ve got in my cubicle, because there’s no one who would argue how gorgeous Kellen Sutton is. Pair that with how lean and built he is, and how perfectly his expensive suits seem to fit his muscular body, and I can’t deny myself the opportunity to steal a glance at him every now and again through his open office door and dream about what it would be like if he ever looked my way with more than a passing glance.

He doesn’t have a clue who I am, Ellie, I tell her. "He sees me while he sits in his place of power, but he doesn’t actually see me, if you know what I mean. He’s the boss; I’m just a lowly employee doing as I’m told in order to earn a paycheck."

And pining away from the confines of your half-hidden desk, Ellie whispers into my ear. "It’s kind of
