Larnette Phillips
I am an author who writes socially conscious fiction, ridiculously funny fiction and down home southern fiction. I care about the sacred trust of the "writer's pen" and use it to be the voice for those who cannot speak and to tell the stories of those who cannot tell them.

Crazy Ass Entrepreneur - Larnette Phillips
This book is dedicated to Chad—the man who said I do!
and it is also dedicated to my precious mother, Pookie
and my Papa who taught me all things. And for my precious sister, Prissy Britches. It is also dedicated to two very special women—Daisy Mae and Shirley.
And by first name only—the men who shaped my world when it comes to being an entrepreneur—Jerry, Ken, Charles, two Kevin’s
– and Pops. You know who you are, and I am forever grateful!
A Word from the Author—
Why did I write this book? Why, indeed? Why not? I have been writing full-time since 1991 and along the way I’ve added a few entrepreneurial endeavors into the mix.
Prior to writing full-time I spent countless years in direct sales, marketing, and public relations as well as corporate sales. In fact, I was working in corporate sales when I left a cushy job with a Fortune 500 job to pursue writing.
Through the years and as digital technology has made tremendous strides into the world-at-large, I have seen innumerable mistakes made by people from all walks of business
—whether the freelancer, the person behind an LLC, someone with a good idea
or someone with a company that keeps fifty to hundreds of people gainfully employed at one time.
Life as an entrepreneur is not easy. Seeing the mistakes brought me to a place where I said, Wait a minute! There’s a reason I know what I know!
That knowledge is as simple and uncomplicated as the title of this book. If you will catch hold of the message in this book it is my hope that those three steps
will do for you what they have done for me.
HE WHO HOLDS KNOWLEDGE to himself, leaves no mark upon the world but he gives knowledge to the world will leave an imprint forever.
And certainly, I consider it a privilege to be called "a crazy ass entrepreneur!

Chapter 1
ACHIEVING GREATNESS is easy—changing lives is damn difficult.
STEP ONE
I have watched countless would be
entrepreneurs crash and burn not because they couldn’t meet payroll or obtain the inventory they needed to pull up an idea. The crash and burn were for another, entirely different reason. It is the first principle that significantly changed my life once I got it in two places—into my heart and into my head.
I’ve seen people mix and match
their skills, their talents and their dreams and it goes something like this: I’ll go start a coaching business and along the way I’ll sell them a class or webinar and then I’ll just start doing some consulting with firms on the side....
And so it goes!
It’s a lofty ideal to think we can be all things to all people, burn the candle at both ends and come up with several ideas that will not only make us successful, but perhaps help us get lucky enough to hit life’s jackpot
and make the first million.
This first step is plain and simple before you even begin to think about pursuing a dream, opening a business, creating a product, etc.
What is the one thing you can do that nobody else can do?
In the playing field of a business marketplace, you will sink or swim
pretty quickly and just about damn near drown if you don’t learn that one principle.
There is a difference between a person’s gifting and a person’s calling.
The gift is what takes care of you—and will always take care of you—because it is what you were born to do and who you were created to be.
If you focus on several different ideas then you spread yourself too thin and wind up stressed out, unable to focus and with no clear vision of what you do, create, sell, etc.
When you do not know what the one thing is that you can do better than anyone else, you set yourself up for failure.
Why?
Because you blend in with the crowd and become dispensable. There is nothing that sets you apart and you have made yourself a target
of sorts because all of sudden, by NOT doing what you were created to do, by NOT doing what you can do better than anyone
