    Gratitude

I am grateful to God Almighty, who started a work in me and has been my ever-present help. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the men and women of faith who have significantly impacted my life and ministry through their mentorship. I am immensely thankful to my wonderful parents, who instilled discipline in me and have always been excellent and supportive all the way. I would also like to thank my well-wishers for their prayers and unwavering support.

    Preface

Change is an essential part of nature, and man is constantly changing and developing as a product of nature. After the breath-gifting, the created image became a living soul, and with the ability to perceive, he named the world around him. Humans have multiplied since then and filled the whole earth, although through one form we came, we each remain unique. Man is a spirit, a soul, and contained in a body, which is the essence of who and what we are as individuals. This book will focus on the soul - the base of change.

A man’s soul comprises his mind, will, and emotions. It is responsible for how he perceives life. Breath itself is the man's life. Interestingly, breathing has much to do with our soul, as it refreshes and strengthens it. Our soul perceives and interacts with things in the realm of thoughts, often called psyche, which is the root word of psychology - the study of how the mind works. The soul is our natural person; it defines who we are. Through the soul, we experience emotions such as happiness, love, sorrow, anger, relief, and compassion, and we can process thoughts, think, remember, solve issues, and make decisions.

Therefore, to effect change, it is necessary to engage one's soul. After man was created in God's image, they, unfortunately, fell from that glorious nature and then required transformation. Transformation is the process of changing from one form or nature to another. So, for man, it is the reverse of his fallen state, which can only come about with the help of his Maker.

For the context of this book, transformation refers to modifying one's behaviour and moral values to become a better version of oneself. When a person changes, it affects their own life, the lives of those around them, and potentially the world. However, attempting to change the world without first addressing the changes that must happen within us is a grave mistake. Thus, the first step to transformation is understanding who you are and why you want to change. You then have to believe that you can be transformed, be determined, and embrace discipline. If you do not think you can become a better person, no one can believe it for you. You must believe in the change you want, even if it doesn't resonate with others or meet their expectation, provided it is positive and worth living for.

People have different perspectives about their life stages. Some may feel they have already missed their time and chance, while others may feel they still have a long way to go. However, it is always early enough for change, regardless of the time. All you need is to embrace it, and the whole thing will begin. Remember, change starts from within, and your soul is the point of that transformation. If you genuinely desire a change, engage your soul in it, channel your willpower, and put your determination into that desire. You will see that desire come true.

Transformation can align with various principles and ethics, but nothing can genuinely transform the soul or bring meaning to life like the Word of God. Not too long ago, someone asked me for the most effective secret to change, and without telling any stories, I replied, Declarations and Commitment. God's word brought forth everything we see, and His commitment to finishing what He started brought about their establishment.

As God said in Genesis 1:3 and 4, Let there be light, and there was light, and He saw the light and that it was good. He carried on with the works of transforming the void, formless and hollow earth to its beauty and glamour. Through the power of words, you can also say to and of yourself, Let there be a better man! And you will see it happen and know that it was good and that you made a good choice in your life.

Start today by confessing and declaring this in all areas of your life. Be committed, and work towards the better person you want to become. This book is not a high definition to be over-emphasised, but a brotherly letter from one man to another. It contains what is helpful to any godly young man seeking to discover themselves and their purpose.

Chapter One introduces temperaments and the types of temperaments. It aims at explaining why you, as an individual, behave differently from others and presents the strengths and weaknesses of the various temperament types.

Chapter two discusses the blend in temperament, as to how a person can behave similarly to someone because of the presence of a particular trait in both persons and what to expect from a person with such a blend.

Chapter three discusses identifying your kind of person: your attitude, feelings, character, values, desires, thoughts, and boundaries, and differentiates between character, temperament, and personality, which many misunderstand and use wrongly to decide who is moral, good, or godly.

Chapter four delves immensely into transformation, explaining in detail its seasons and stages and the character and mindset of a transformed man.

Chapters five, six, and seven highlight the importance and effects of transformation on a person, those in and around their life, and the world at large.

Chapter eight connects purpose with self-discovery, and chapter nine guides and teaches how to find purpose. The final chapter, reflection, provides Scripture verses and inspirational quotes to run with as you embark on this journey of becoming a better man.

"Don’t be ashamed of Your Story... It may inspire someone."

    CHAPTER 1

Why You Behave The Way You Do

There are many reasons for our behavioural differences as individuals. One might believe that acting in a certain way is right or will bring them closer to their desire, which is their inclination and life orientation. At the same time, others may or may not resonate or agree with that. Understanding your temperament is particularly important when it comes to transformation. Temperament is a powerful force that drives human actions. It can be constructive or destructive, depending on how it is directed. And you cannot change or address what you have no understanding about. You must understand what temperament is and how it came about. Nothing is more fascinating
