INTRODUCTION
The Ten Commandments have become the cornerstone of morals and ethics for all of humanity. The Bible is the number one best seller of all time, and the Ten Commandments are the most dramatic, emphatic and human race changers in the history of mankind.
What is it about them that makes them so?
How can they change and affect our lives?
How are they applicable and relevant today to every person on planet Earth?
How can they bring peace to the world and peace of mind to all of us?
What special moral and ethical standards do they represent?
Is their truth timeless, and if so, why?
Since the Bible tell us the Ten Commandments are God’s spoken words, what makes them so special and unique compared to any other kind of statements that were said and passed down to us through the ages, even by God Himself?
How do these Ten Commandments make our lives different?
Can they be understood only as they’re simply read, or do they carry a spiritual message to each and every one of us?
How can they turn your life into a more spiritual life?
Are these Ten Commandments religious statements, or are they also spiritual and fundamental principles for all human beings?
Are they all on the same level of understanding, or are they at different levels of operation whose understanding depends on our spiritual development?
Is Kabbala also part of understanding the Ten Commandments?
This book answers those questions.
Our world includes many people of different backgrounds, beliefs, places, status, and ages. When differences among people negatively affect their interactions and relationships, their ability to work with and for each other and benefit the group as a whole becomes damaged. We’re all different and unique. These differences can be dimensions of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, age, physical ability, religious beliefs, and much more.
Here at Life’s Wisdom, we aim to empower people who come to us to achieve their dreams, deepen their understanding and spirituality, and become the best version on themselves. Some people are looking for fame, some seek success in their own definition, some want to play and have fun, some want to become stronger, more empowered and seek for more tools and skills on how to manage and handle their lives. Can we help anyone to live authentically and transform their struggles into courage by just improving their skills, their understanding?
Moral courage and integrity are essential for building trust and commitment in ourselves, especially when we’re in a role of teaching others as parents, siblings, teachers or good citizens. It takes moral courage, a great sense of purpose, and a backbone to stand up for your values and professional ethics, to be honest about the risk of rejection and loss of affection from others.
President Franklin D. Roosevelt said, The only thing we have to fear is fear itself
. If our fears and anxieties cause us to lose confidence in our capability to handle any situation, we’ll lose something very precious: our integrity and our souls. You’re probably familiar with well-known stories about heroic men and women who have gone above and beyond their natural efforts, to fight for their values. Our values seem to be inherent in the fabric of who we are as individuals.
So, what exactly are values?
Values are principles that speak to us, the ideas and beliefs we hold near and dear to our hearts. Our values reflect what we believe is important to the way we live and work in the world. More often than not, values determine our priorities, and, deep down, they likely serve as a sort of barometer we use to indicate whether life is turning out the way we hoped it would. Values are those things that really matter to each of us ... the ideas and beliefs we hold as special. Our values are the things that we believe are important in the way we live and work. They (should) determine our priorities, and, deep down, they’re probably the measure we use to indicate to if our life is turning out the way we want it to be.
When the things that we do and the way we behave match our values, life is usually good – we’re satisfied and content. But when these don’t align with our values, that’s when things feel… wrong. This can be a real source of unhappiness. This is why making a conscious effort to identify our values is so important. Our values can be caring for others, the freedom to express our opinions and so on…
Most of us learned our values - or morals - at home, at church or synagogue, at school, from parents and teachers. When our actions and behaviors coincide with our values, life feels right and balanced; we feel fulfilled and complete.
We must understand why our values are so important to be able to apply them. We find courage when we find meaning in the struggles we’re facing.
Values are defined as our fundamental beliefs, the guiding principles that determine our actions and behavior.
We believe that all colors of the rainbow are fine, as long as you, dear reader, are loyal to your path. The question that comes with this statement is, How do you support your life, emotions, and actions? What message do you give to others about yourself or the way you react to the world?
What kind of person do you want to become in your journey and what do you choose to focus on? When you want to live true spirituality in your life, you must adopt an understanding and open mind to learn, explore and seek for the unknown. Living a true spiritual life means, self – definition (knowing your own spirit and soul), spiritual development, seeking your life’s purpose and inner meaning, inviting the power of God and universe to your life.
Judging others is not our job. Our goal is to focus on improving and finding ourselves the tools we use, and on the skills, we teach others in that process.
How and when should we know that something is really detrimentally wrong with the values we’re living by? Well, our heart is our compass and our conscience. We should develop the sensitivity to listen to our heart when we sense disharmony between what we do and what we know deep inside is the truth and the right moral values.
Many times, we seek to find out what’s right and what’s wrong. It can actually feel great knowing we’re right, that we did the right thing, and that we do what should be done and what’s right. But we must take in to account that the world is not just black or white, it’s not just about if we did it or not, and it’s not just about being right or wrong, so where is the gray area? How do we get through challenges and difficulties? What if being right feels great, but it’s not really the wise thing to do?
