    Introduction

The Scriptures reveal that God exists and His nature is to continually renew His creation. His thoughts for us are good and He wants to give us life more abundantly. He sees and knows all things and can take our unfavourable experiences and use them as instruments for good in our lives. All of this is good news.

Further good news is that nothing is impossible with God and there is hope for anyone willing for a change in his or her way of life through communion with Him. The power of God can change an individual’s personality and character but only after that person has sought God’s counsel through meditation and prayer, and made the effort to follow through on God’s leading.

We have seen that the human experience is filled with barren places and crooked paths. However, the Scriptures indicate that God is in the exchange business. He is willing to take the fallen state of His children and give His beauty in exchange, which is restoration, peace of mind, love, truth and orderliness.

In other words, God is offering His abundance and freedom for our lack and limitations.

Many of us are dealing with life-dominating problems, and some question God’s providence and mercy, wondering why they should have to undergo their challenges. However, prayer and meditation on Scripture will give some insight into God’s ways, while a change of attitudes and mindsets could be of added help towards a sense of balance and better living.

And though God does not provide us with all the answers about His ways, yet a blessed way of living is being steadfast in God, never questioning His motives, but continually seeking His intervention in our lives, and walking by faith. Those who walk by faith know that in God’s timing, they will reap His rewards.

I have seen the wonder-working power of God heal the sick, transform persons addicted to false appetites into fervent followers of Him, and turned around unpleasant circumstances. These have all taken place through seeking God’s counsel, with fervent prayer and meditation.

The practice of meditation, prayer, and seeking God’s counsel are still the most profound ways of creating change into one’s life. Those who practice fervent prayer and communion with God know the touch of His guidance, direction, healing, wholeness and harmony into the human experience.
