Poetry & Lyrics - Kevin Cooper
Dilemma
You know so much about me
I know nothing about you
It really makes me think sometimes
And wonder what to do
Despite not knowing of you
I trust you implicitly
I sometimes wish it otherwise
Though this is how it must be
I think it would be easier
If I knew of you more
Easier to share the things
I feel we must explore
I know that you will help me
Through the good times and the bad
You see me when I’m happy
Even more so when I’m sad
When the mirror is clouded over
And things seem all out of place
You help to wipe away the mist
So I can see my face
Sometimes I am critical
Of the methods that you use
And sometimes you’re annoying
Even when I am amused
Yet there’s no one on this planet
That sees me like you do
You know and see the parts of me
That no-one ever knew
Sometimes you surprise me
Your reaction or your smile
And though I try to hide it
My heart bubbles for a while
And I sometimes surprise you
With the things I have to say
But it’s hard for me to accept praise
I push it all away
Yet deep inside I really want it
Need it, dare I add
I do not know why, when it comes
I feel both good and bad.
The conflict that’s inside of me
I know you feel it
