It’s the middle of winter in Philadelphia. Early snow , a bashful winter, and bitter cold greets anyone who dares to step out into it very harshly. In the center of town an outside burial service has reached its conclusion. Frozen mourners huddle together exchanging their condolences one to another. While oddly , one man breaks away from the pact , seemingly disinterested in talking to anyone. He gets into his car and quickly drives away. Moving smoothly through lite traffic, he’s able to quickly merge onto the highway, soon exiting onto Interstate Highway 95 South headed back to Florida. With not all that much to keep himself alert, he decides to make a call, on the other end a woman’s voice answers.
Voice) " OH hey babe, I was just about to call you, you little mind reader, so ...how did it go?
Man) OH it was alright
Voice) Are you O.K. ?
Man) " Yeah, yeah I’m alright . I hardly knew him anyway, you know.
Voice) Yeah, I know , but he was still your father.
Man) Yeah, some people say that.
Voice) ( lightly scolding ) " Ronnie ...so how are the roads?
Ronnie) Amazingly clear right now, that’s why I wanted to get outta there.
Voice) Yeah , O.K. ... are you going to push through?
Ronnie) " OH yeah, I’m just stopping for gas , food and little pee breaks along the way. ( She laughs )
( About a mile up ahead there’s a curvature in the road and Ronnie clearly sees a driver out of control.)
Ronnie) What’s he doing?
Voice ) Ah what, what’s who doing?
Ronnie) There’s a car coming my way that’s all over the road.
Voice ) ( nervous ) Is there any way to go around him ?
Ronnie ) " It’s a two-lane highway babe, ... I’ll just slow up a bit and punch it when he gets close.
Voice) ( really nervous now ) Ronnie , just stop the car and let him go around you.
Ronnie) I can’t pull over Hun , snowbanks on every side . I’ll be alright.
Voice ) Ronnie don’t you get off this phone , you hear me? What highway are you on?
Ronnie) " 95 South , its O.K. honey ,I got this , OH SHIT !!! ( She hears tires screeching , then eerie silence)
Voice) ( shouting ) RONNIE ! RONNIE ! Ronnie picks up baby ( starts to cry and talk at the same time.)
Ronnie pick up , please baby please. "
Ronnie ) He ran off the road and hit a tree just ahead of me a little bit. I’m going to see if he’s alright.
Voice ) " Ronnie no ! Ronnie just call somebody, that’s what they do , Ronnie are you listening?
( He runs ahead to the crashed vehicle. When he gets there, he sees a lone driver trapped inside. The car is totaled from the impact. But the driver is still coherent , but bleeding from a head wound . Also his body seems to be pinned. As Ronnie tugs on the door it’s obvious that the door is jammed . But the driver has managed to roll the window down. Seeing this Ronnie reach’s in with both hands attempting to pull the driver out, but to no avail. With the man obviously in a lot of pain , he knows he has to be careful in his next attempt. As he frantically search’s about in and around the car for his next course of action, strangely the man summons him with a hand gesture over to him. Once he reach’s him, the man grabs his head with both hands and stares into his eyes and says )
Injured man ) Thank God
( There’s a blinding flash of brilliant white light with an explosion, and Ronnie is thrown ten feet through the air onto a nearby snow
