Introduction
Why do you read a book?
A book is simply a collection of words. Words themselves hold no inherent power. So, why do texts like the Bible, Quran, Bhagavad Gita, or the Four Noble Truths remain relevant after thousands of years of human existence? Why do countries still operate under constitutions written centuries ago? The answer lies in the transformative power that occurs when a person engages with the words, reflects upon them, and applies them to their life.
It’s the moment when someone says, This book changed my life.
But let’s be honest, the book itself didn’t enact that change.
You did.
You tapped into your inner power, which you may not have acknowledged before. Often, we attribute our experiences solely to external factors, not realizing that our external world is shaped by our inner perceptions and imagination.
You have the choice to read a book and then set it aside or even discard it. Alternatively, you can contemplate its teachings and see if they resonate with your life’s circumstances. Without me needing to tell you, you already know whether investing your time in a particular book is worthwhile. Since both you and I have a finite amount of time on this earth, it’s wise to consider and apply these truths to find joy in our lives.
I want to be transparent: I didn’t author this book. Yes, my fingers typed the words, but the ideas came through me. I’m merely a vessel sharing these truths, and the experiences recounted within are mine alone. Therefore, neither you nor I hold any copyright or obligation regarding its consumption or practice.
With zero ownership between us, let’s embark on this journey from Ground Zero, fostering a pure and sincere dialogue.
Here’s what this book isn’t: It’s not a self-help book unless you choose to make it one. It doesn’t perpetuate falsehoods; rather, it presents truths for you to judge. I haven’t sought endorsements because that would compromise my ability to speak truthfully. You won’t find exaggerated claims plastered on the back cover, but if you do come across enthusiastic reviews, they might hold truth for those individuals. Still, it’s crucial to trust your own judgment and narrative.
Let’s begin with a simple truth unknown to many: You can have it all.
However, don’t take my word for it. Approach each truth presented here with skepticism, scrutinizing them with a metaphorical surgical knife. Only accept what resonates with your own experiences, not those of others, including mine.
This book comprises five chapters. The first three debunk common misconceptions, while the final two outline ways to reclaim the life that’s rightfully yours.
After reading, you have two choices: experiment with these truths or discard them. Neither decision affects me, although recommending this book might inadvertently bolster my bank balance. However, that’s merely a side effect, not an obligation.
For context, I’ve shared these truths with my students across various online courses, focusing on personal development in business and career growth. However, I won’t delve into those details here. Just know that this knowledge has been disseminated to hundreds before you.
Remember, forming opinions prematurely undermines the purpose of reading this book. Stay mindful of the cheapness of opinions, as we’ll soon discuss. While it may seem challenging, strive to detach your mind from the reading process. Reminders and warnings are scattered throughout these
